Anyone else here Diamond Paint? It’s kinda like paint by numbers but different. I like to do it to relax. I always try to make sure to buy kits from companies that properly get licensing for the art used so it’s not stolen art.

This is my current work in progress. The art it’s based on is called Evening Melodies by Abraham Hunter. I’ve been working on this one for basically a year (started Aug 12 2023)

I’ve alwayd wanted to try more diamond painting! I’m trying to find good designs online, since a lot of the ones I saw IRL I didn’t really like ;w; i tested it with a smaller canvas before and it was really relaxing, I enjoyed it lots! c:

And that looks like a beautiful design! I’d love to find a starry design for diamond painting, it’d look so good with it shimmering 🥹

The finished ones always look so pretty but I think I would find it too tedious for me. It reminds of cross stitching that I've giving up doing multiple times now

That’s understandable. I’m someone who can handle large tedious projects so it’s perfect for me. I know many people who find it more annoying than relaxing they appreciate the finished product but aren’t interested in doing it themselves.

Wow, that looks really beautiful! I’ve never heard of diamond painting before but sounds kind of fun. I really like the idea of paint by numbers and I often buy a lot of kits, but I almost never remember to make time to use them. I keep thinking it’s the sort of thing that would be fun to do communally, like a public jigsaw puzzle!

I have three diamond paintings- a custom one of my dog that’s 90-95% finished, one of the artwork “Celestine” by Margret Morales that’s 75% done, and an unstarted one that I forget the title of, but it was fanart of Princess Serenity and the Silver Millennium palace by Cherriuki.

I really enjoy diamond painting, but I have had my paintings for years and still haven’t finished one 😵 It’s weird… Some days I get the urge to diamond paint and up working on it for several hours straight, only to not touch it again for like half a year. It doesn’t help that the two WIPs are both 50x70 😵‍💫

i have done a few diamond paintings, once i get into them i find them quite an enjoyable pastime and like how i can easily do it in sections and take a break before starting on the next part. some of them use so many different coloured diamonds that i find they can get quite fiddly but always love seeing the finished piece at the end.

Haven’t heard of this before, the one you’ve posted is really pretty. I think this would be one of those things I couldn’t handle the tedium with though. Tbh I even find just painting stressful 💀

I've done a few!! omg that one looks so pretty, i hardly find any good ones!
Are your diamonds sqaure or rounded? I usally use round ones.

50x70 is huge! I’ve since finished the one pictured in my original post it’s 37x28 and is probably my ideal size for when I want to do a big one. I’m currently working on another now and it’s 47x28. I’m glad it’s the biggest one I have but it’s definitely bigger than I’d prefer.

I’ve done both square and round. I prefer square but like round as well. The one in the original post is a square.

Here’s my favourite round one I’ve completed:

Wait are we talking in cm or inches? Because I meant 50x70cm - I definitely could not handle a 50x70 inch painting 😱 And 47x28 inches is pretty ginormous, but I’m sure a lot of detail could be packed into that size!

Oh I didn’t think of that… yeah that’s inches. 😅 Took me 13 months to do the one I first posted in this thread. I really should be thinking in cm since I’m in Canada but both my previous workplaces mainly used inches so it’s ingrained itself in my head.

Anyways, this one is probably my preferred size. Not too small but not too big either. It’s 13 x 17in (approx 33 x 43cm)

i never knew these types of pieces were called diamond painting! i saw one with the characters from the nana anime. very cool :D

but anyways, i haven't tried it! i'd like to but i'd probably take years and years to finish, which i guess is the fun of it for some people.

these are beautiful! i’ve only seen smaller, basic kits and i never considered they could get this much more complex. i haven’t done any myself but i’ve been meaning to try it
