before i go on i wanna say this is a me thing and not the games problem at all. but id be lying if i said i was not already burnt out on new horizons...

personally i’ve been in self-isolation since march 20th (that was unplanned believe it or not) and after two weeks ive logged 185 hours in the game. a lot of it has been pretty grindy because i reset my island three times (again, a me thing)...

is anyone else burnt out yet? it makes me sad but i’m in self-isolation until april 20th so i have two more weeks to play after i take a short break

edit: to clarify, i am taking a break already! im mostly just wondering if other people are feeling the same

Maybe find other games and stuff to occupy your time? If it's a grind and not fun you should probably take a break for a couple days.

I would take a break then! My boyfriend has the same problem, he played it for a week straight after we got our copies and now he's very meh about playing. So he's taking a break to play stuff like LoL and other games!

Let's see... ACNH has been out for 16 days which means you're playing it for an average of about 11 and a half hours a day 7 days a week which is about 2 full-time jobs. That might help explain why it feels like a job instead of a game.

It's best to take a break. I'm sure there were other games you were playing before you got this one, you should revisit them! I'm playing splatoon 2 when later instead of NH.

No, not really. I may have logged nearly 100 hours so far, but I've been playing other things and doing other things such as Youtube, Streams, etc, along side ACNH.

Heck, I just got a 3* rating finally so terraforming content begins soon for me, so that's got me pretty amped up.

Not at all. I put 4,000 hours into acnl tho so.. lmao

I'm burnt out of this stupid pandemic I just want it to be over already :(
But I've been playing for exactly 2 weeks today and I still love it and don't feel burnt out. I force myself not to grind too much and get some fresh air outside, or chill with my sisters.

even though i spend a good chunk of my time on acnh i've been trying to do other things too (come on here, play other games, talk to friends) that helps me with not being burnt out

I'm at the 45 hour mark and have been playing since shortly after launch, so while I haven't spent nearly as much time in the game as others, I don't feel close to burning out at this point in time. I've certainly burnt out from other things, though, and like everyone else I'm hoping for a quarantine resolution sooner than later.

I'm not, but I play way less than you. Glad to see you're taking a break though! When you go back I'm sure you'll feel refreshed!

I did feel burnt out before I unlocked terraforming, now I gotta say all of my days are going into experimenting and planning things for my island. plus I'm also getting into hybrid breeding, and I also enjoy trading so I have a lot to do

obviously not saying you should start doing these things and you'll magically stop being burnt out as I imagine you've probably done them all already. and 180 hours is a lot for a game this new. I have been doing almost nothing but playing it all day every day since launch and I got 30 hours less than you. and doing just about anything for that length of time, even if you really love it is gonna grind you down eventually.

but honestly my acnh cartridge hasn't seen the light of day since march 20th, even though I got 3 other games on switch and I don't expect that to be changing for me anytime soon lol

I started to feel burnt out and then I unlocked terraforming... now it's like a brand new game to me. I dont time travel so its gonna take at least two weeks to move all the buildings I wanna move so I'll be occupied for a bit.

The holiday overlap doesn't help. Just want to complete one set. I have been wanting to get back to Breath of the Wild.

I have 225 hours into this game and can say I'm slowly burning out. Don't be dumb like me and play the game constantly to an unhealthy amount, haha.

I totally understand how you feel, I’ve been self isolating since the 20th as well and it’s definitely taken it’s toll. I absolutely love the game, don’t get me wrong - but I spent a solid week playing about 12 hours each day (and also reset once) and now I’m struggling to enjoy it as much as I first did. It’s really important to take breaks and remind yourself about why you like the game - maybe involve yourself more in certain boards (for instance trading or the airport section) to spruce things up? I’ve been trying to work on filling my wish list as well as helping others with theirs. Visiting other users islands also gives you a chance to see what they have in their shops and get a little inspiration from their island designs. You could also play with a few friends whilst fishing or bug hunting too :)

It can be really easy to get burnt out when you’re playing so frequently and there isn’t really much else to do (especially in quarantine) so don’t beat yourself up too much about it, it happens to the best of us!
