Anyone else create their own websites?

And no, I don't mean tumblr or anything like that. I'm talking about a domain, webhosting and writing your own HTML/PHP coding and such?

I've been doing this for...I wanna say almost fifteen years now, and I find it so fun! I love designing layouts and all that stuff. I'm not spectacular at it or anything, but it's cool to do.

Anyone else into stuff like this? Probably not, because I'm weird, but I'm curious.

I used Tumblr to make my own website, and I intend on getting my own domain name and customising it a little more via Patreon funds.

If I could code, I'd rather code for video games than for websites. But it would be awesome.

Yes! I started out with HTML, but now I'm strictly using PHP and CSS; it makes it soooo much easier to switch layouts.

I did it once for a computer class I was in. I found it confusing and didn't like it as much as using websites that give you a site to use, like blogspot or something.

I used my website to make a portfolio showcasing what I did during my four years in college. My professors gave it a D. Not sure if that speaks for my website building skills or my skills throughout my four years of marketing classes....

It's funny you ask, a lot of my childhood revolved around me and some internet friends making multiple websites. We used forumotion.com, and it was really fun. Of course, none of the sites got super "popular" and even if it did, it didn't last long. None of the sites lasted longer than two years, but still. I was a mod / admin on multiple sites. Reading the responses from people saying they're "too stupid" to grasp website building is really making me want to start writing tutorials, because this stuff is SO easy once you learn the basics.

And when I say learn, I mean "once you've repeated it so many times and it's been lasered into your brain".
