wait till nook upgrades to the 2nd level or higher to get silver items (at least most of them)

When you check a the tools in Nook N Go will it say Fishing Rod or Silver Fishing Rod if it is silver?

He'll say it's a silver rod and tell you it's rare and you might not see another for a while.
