Anyone else too attached to their current villagers to make room for the new ones?

I've had my dreamies on my island for a full year now with my duplicate personalities being Normal (Margie/Merengue) and Snooty (Whitney/Judy). Without a villager limit increase, I simply can't bring myself to kick any of those four out for Ione and Shino as much as I adore them 😭

Anyone else facing this dilemma? I hustled hard the first few months of release to fill out my town with permanent residents. 🥺💔

I don't really like having permanent residents, but I do like to get pictures and I don't time travel much so it'll be a while before I've even got a chance to invite anyone new. I do understand that feeling, though. it's okay if you don't wanna move anyone out!

Mostly? I got Raymond recently from an island, but I don't seem to find myself caring as much about him as I first thought. I still don't know if I want to give him up for one of the new villagers yet though.

My other villagers though are a no-go! I love them all too much to part with any!

I'm trying to convince myself that I can let two of my villagers go, but I've been trying that for a while now! 😭 Whenever I interact with them, I think, "how could I ever think to let you go?!" 😅

It’s more like I don’t care about any of the new ones, to be honest… I was mildly interested in adding Sasha to my island to represent Deku from MHA, but my character already fills that role, so there’s no point. None of the other new villagers really speak to me.

Sadly, yes. The only one I'd be wiling to move out is Kyle but I would only take a smug as a replacement so I can't actually have any of my favorites out of the new villagers.

Yeah, me :')

I adore all of my villagers and even had most of them nicely paired off by species, Dom and Dobie being my favorite boys and the exceptions to the rule, and their aesthetics all work so nicely with my island as is. I might decide to flatten and redo my island at some point, and would maybe consider swapping out some villagers then? But for now, none of them are going anywhere, even though I adore Shino and Ione to pieces.

Yes and no. The sad part is, without time-traveling by my side, moving out villagers is random unless I use Amiibo cards. And since my Series 5 hasn't arrived yet... no, I won't be moving out most of my old villagers. I wouldn't mind moving out Cheri or the one giveaway villager staying on my island just for the Series 5 villagers like Dom or Judy or even the new villagers like Shino, but we'll see how it works out.

Yes, on my second even though I now have Dizzy’s amiibo I still can’t bring myself to let him go. My first island has mostly permanent villagers .

Mood even if I had the cards for my dreamies friendship progress gets reset and it's not really the same since they forget you :C

If I’d been playing since release I’d definitely be in the same spot now, so I get you.

This is one reason I really want the limit to be increased from 10. Even just 12 would be much better!
Just 👏 let 👏 us 👏 have 👏 12 👏 spaces👏
There's even that ONE corner of the villager list on your map preventing it from being 2 full rows (assuming you only have 1 player on the island)

Yea I feel the same way. It’s too bad they forget you.

I can say I have permanent crew for now. It's true... we can't have more than 10 villagers on our island... but starting from (most probably) tomorrow - whoever got DLC will have more semi-villagers. Sure, it's too early to say how our connectivity with new-crew could be build, if it would be a separate and limited enivironment or maybe it will have some sort of connection with our main island.

If I hadn't restarted I would have been too attached to my old villagers for sure. I haven't interacted with the villagers on my new island enough to form major attachments yet.

I’ve kicked one of my og villagers but I can’t bring myself to kick out Rory but I want a different villager but idk if it will happen or not
