i missed out on the entirety of the winter season last year because i took a ten month animal crossing break. ever since then i've been anxiously stocking up on sweaters - which i also love to wear irl - and coats and boots and hats. winter is just such a great season in my opinion!
I’ll be honest, I don’t like winter on Animal Crossing or in real life for that matter. I just don’t think snow looks right on a tropical island. I always have my island set in the summer months. I think there are tons of fun activities to do in winter and some islands look amazing in the snow, but it’s not for me. I’d just rather not deal with it, personally. Others can definitely enjoy it though!
winter is my favourite AC season so i'm very much looking forward to it myself! <3 i love seeing my island blanketed in snow and bundling my villager up in sweaters
I'm always happy to see winter in Animal Crossing. It never snows where I live, so it's nice to see it in the game. I'm looking forward to cooking all kinds of things that might sound cozy for the cold weather. I like wearing lots of different winter outfits in the game, too.
Off topic, but I sort of like how villagers will react to you wearing short sleeve shirts in the winter months. They’ll comment asking if you’re cold. I recall that happening, and I always thought it was a nice touch.
I love winter in AC. I missed a good portion of it last year because i took a long break. I look forward to see if they add any new seasons and what additions or changes they make to toy day. But first, I’m hoping there will be flour, butter, vinegar or something better for this year’s harvest festival.
I just saw the title and thought this was about winter in real-life.
Mm, I enjoy the Toy Day/Christmas atmosphere and want to try getting more DIYs but the snowmen got so nerfed compared to NL that I'm not too excited tbh. Now that I live in a climate that doesn't get snow (except for some flurries maybe once a year) seeing snow on the ground for so long feels tiring. Whereas back when i grew up since we had snow on the ground for even longer I didn't mind haha.
i played through winter last year, but i’m definitely pretty excited for it this year as well! i’m not a huge fan of winter or snow irl, but winter in animal crossing is absolutely gorgeous. i loved building snowmen, seeing the lights on the cedar trees in december, seeing my villagers all bundled up while it was snowing, the crunch of the snow under my feet, etc!! i’m also especially excited for it now that the roost is coming back, since it’s always made me happy to go warm up with some coffee on snowy winter days.
No, all my decorations look very weird in winter. I like the seasons where the grass is green better. I don’t like winter at all. Autumn is ok , but I still prefer the green hues. I tend to skip through and time travel past winter. I don’t care much for the snowman or ice furniture either, so I don’t mind missing out on getting those DIY.
yes! although the theme im going for on my island isn't really fit for snowy months, winter in nh is so pretty and i always enjoy visiting dream addresses that are in winter. tbh i think i prefer winter over fall in animal crossing
I’ve always found winter in Animal Crossing magical— when I was playing as a kid, I loved the snow because I lived somewhere where it didn’t. Now winter feels nostalgic to me.
I’m looking forward to experiencing it for the first time in AC (never played to winter in NL or NH), but can already tell that it’ll go on too long for me. The white, comparatively lifeless aesthetic isn’t my favorite, especially because I’ll be restarting my Island around that time and would much prefer the lush greenery for that.
On top of that—like @Raz already pointed out—it’s a bit disappointing to start farming with the arrival of winter. If I could delay or shorten the winter season, I definitely would!
Tbh winter is my second least favorite season irl and my most hated season in Animal Crossing. I always have trouble with the snowman and having a lot of snow kind of burns my eyes bc it makes everything so bright. TT v TT
Winter is my favorite season (both IRL and in the game), so I'm definitely excited to see it back, lol. The update will certainly help make it all the better as well, as I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the frozen fencing and the snow working wonders together, and it'll be interesting to see how many of the new items will work well in winter.
