Aquarium Ideas?

I'm thinking about having an aquarium room in my house, but I'm a little stumped for ideas. If you have an aquarium in your house, what's your set-up like? Have any favorite fish you like displaying? What do you display them on?

I'd mess around at Harv's with it. I was thinking of doing the same thing, and started working on it myself after seeing your post, and there are different sizes and types of tanks - for instance, there's a one-tile tank that takes up the whole tile, but not all of them do - and also different substrates and whatnot even between fish from the same body of water.

As for what to display them on, I think the most handy thing is other fish tanks (think of the aquarium wall at the pet store, for instance). You can play with different sizes, too, and put a two-wide aquarium with a one-wide aquarium next to it, then put one-wide aquariums on both of them. There might be some taller furniture you could put more fish tanks on that you could then put behind that, so it looks similar to a stack of three. Otherwise, if you customize the stall and put two fish in it, you can also make it look like a home aquarium.

I think I might steal this concept, but make an outdoor aquarium / aquarium cafe. I love the idea.

I just think the stalls make it look a little more organized and more like an aquarium. You can probably find some really nice aquarium themed QRs as well. Plus, we all know how hard a good table is to find.

Definitely think you should add some Shell Lamps for a nice ambience!

I personally like how the Clownfish, Koi, Yellow Perch and Surgeonfish look in tanks. Those are just a couple quick picks though. I think the Crawfish would be fun to watch too.

I love some of the examples you gave!

I think some fishes are good to add in your room because of their aquarium! Goldfish I think or barreleye. That last has a very good place where it lives and it makes your room very special! I'll definitely add it somewhere in one of my houses.

I do, but I don't like it.
I tell myself they were released, and replaced with mechanical fish.

I don't catch and sell fish anymore.

I think that's a great idea to use Harvey's Island! And I like the idea of playing with different levels for an aquarium. I think my favorite fish to display are the guppie/beta type tanks. The neon tetra is so cute! <3

I used to work in an aquarium years ago.

I get you. It's an issue with the pet trade in general that people don't know what kind of care animals need, including fish. The tanks in-game are very tiny and I would never use that as a good example of actual fish care in real life.

I love this thread!! I keep fish in real life and been struggling with ideas for my tank/bug room - just a jumble of my favourites all stacked up in vague order atm! What a genius idea with the stalls, totally plan to try this! I do wish we could put our fish into bigger tanks though haha - thought for ages it'd be cool to have at least one larger aquarium furniture item that fish could be put into - no idea if this would even be possible in AC but a girl can dream!!
