Animal Crossing is full of repetitive tasks and all kinds of activities to do in the games. Are you the type of person who's driven to complete your catalogue or your museum, to get all the Nook Miles achievements (in NH), to collect certain things, etc? Or do you not care about doing these things and play freely? Feel free to post and talk about it here! I'd love to hear all about it.

For me, it's a yes and no. I'll try to get every Nook Miles achievement, but it would take a while; Same with the museum, but that's something I always wanna do. Completing my catalogue is at the very bottom of what I want to do in Animal Crossing, but I suppose it would be very useful for certain scenarios. Lately I've been trying to get all the posters in NH, but I know some players who are trying to (or already did) collect all the villger and NPC photos.

im more of a completionist in relation to completing my vision for my island, all the other achievements and cataloguing dont really bother me.

Yes, I am a completionist for most things. I want to complete my museum, get all achievements or badges, and unlock everything. I also want to do it all on my own without trading for things. I don't stress about it, though. I don't mind if it takes me years to complete everything because Animal Crossing is a game that I expect to play for that long. If I got everything done too quickly, then it wouldn't be fun.

The one thing I don't care about completing is the catalogue, unless there's an achievement or badge for it. Otherwise, I'm happy to just buy the things I like and skip over the things I know I won't use.

I technically am a completionist but when it comes to Animal Crossing I usually only try to complete the museum and maybe specific furniture series collections and that's it. there are wayyyyy too many things to collect to want every single item in the game lol.

My inner completionist and Animal Crossing feels like a forbidden thing I shouldn't have mixed. I was close to fulfilling most of my goals with NH but then the 2.0 update happened and welp. Not rushing through it or anything, just enjoying the ride. For example, I haven't finished the last stamp for all creatures because I just simply haven't been on the mood to do that and I'm not gonna force myself to do it.

The only thing I'm not really aiming for is the "almost impossible items on your own" like posters/photos. I'd need to get all the amiibos for the special NPC and I'd need to rotate my residents which I'm not going to.

hell yeah! i’ve been a completionist ever since my new leaf days. i unfortunately never earned all of the badges in new leaf, nor did i ever complete my catalog (i had everything prior to the welcome amiibo update catalogued, though), but i had a complete museum, every villager pic (including npc pics), etc.

i’m even more-so a completionist in new horizons, though, and am determined to complete everything. i’ve only completed my museum so far, but i’m in the process of completing my catalog, nook mile achievements, and want to 100% complete decorating my island this time as well (i never completed my new leaf town). completing everything is gonna take me a long time, but it gives me something to do and work towards. :’)

Not at all. I just play for fun and not to complete anything. I donate to the museum at my own pace and don’t stress out about it. I trade for items that I want or need for my island, and not for catalog completion. My museum was complete on Population Growing, but it was really my dad’s doing. He had his own file in which he was donating everything. The museum was never something I really cared about.

Sort of? I always get a full museum and full checklists where possible, and I did have the goal of obtaining a full catalog with all different colours and types, but I only managed to get the full museum before I started to get bored this time. I also had all the DIYs at one stage, and I plan to finish them again, but I'm going at a slower pace unless I really need a certain DIY.

I am for most things! I love getting all of the badges or nook miles. I like to finish all of the loans or get a certain amount of bells! I love completing the museum and my encyclopedias as well! The things I dont bother too much with are Photos, furniture items, and clothes. For those I just get the villagers photos I like or the items I like. I do not need all of them!!

I pass completely from the catalog, they're too many things..! And for the rest, I'm a completionist...... at heart, not in practice lol
Every time I start a new file I'm like ''I'm gonna complete the museum this time!!' and always fail to do so because I'm lazy. This time around I'm actually trying to do it in ACNL & ACGC tho! Before this, I haven't finished a single room outside the fossil one, but I'm starting to get close ^^ So far the ones I'm almost done with are sea creatures in ACNL (1 left) and fishes in ACGC (4 left)
I want to try to get all the ACNL badges I can too~

i've gotten to be huge about being a completionist in games like animal crossing fairly recently ; i'd like to complete the museum, get everything in the catalogue, get my dream villagers and make my town look absolutely perfect ... but it's not a rush and i do it in chunks varying in size. i'm especially into completing catalogues, but i actively collect in bursts.

i'd like to restart my new leaf file and complete my catalogue again : with the advent of nintendo shutting down eshop on both the wii u and 3ds, i feel like it'll be just a few years before they consider shutting off wi-fi capabilities for both consoles, and i'd like to restart my nl save file anyways.

not at all.

the only thing i always 100% is the fossil exhibit. i enjoy that one the most, as well as the bug exhibit. i don't really have to have all of the items. i focus more on trying to get the items i really like.

No not really although I kinda went crazy and gotten every single Villager Photo in the game, because I was forcing myself at the time to keep playing the game and then eventually after I got the last photo by the end of 2021 that was when I took a huge hiatus from the game.

I'm a huge completionist tbh to the point of stressing myself about games and life kinda but one of the big reasons why I like ac is because I don't have a time limit for anything. Even bugs, fish and seasonal diy I can time travel anytime I want so I don't have to worry about missing anything 🙂

In New Horizons, I've finished the fossil section of the museum, but not the art, bug or fish sections. I also haven't gotten photos from all of my villagers, I don't have all the DIYs, and I don't have a full catalogue of items (even before the update). I don't really feel like I need to complete them, but if I have nothing better to do, I'll definitely work on them! I don't try to complete anything (in Animal Crossing) unless it's something I want to complete. I'd find it too stressful to worry about completing everything, when there are other things I'd rather be doing! 😊

I really enjoying working towards the museum. I feel like collecting all the diys is overwhelming to be honest. I mean, I am glad there are a ton of them because that means we have a ton of things to use but I wish the duplicates weren't as common for at least the event diys. I think the diys, and creatures are the only things I am a big stickler for making sure I complete. However since the DLC, wallpaper and flooring are ones I have to add to the completion list so they can be used in villager homes.
I think if I ever play another animal crossing game, I will never restart it just incase it ends up being built upon like new horizons was. But I also know what I am getting myself into now vs before so I can make better choices and know what to watch for upon starting the game. new horizons was my first ac game.

I never thought I would ever attempt to be a completionist in this game, until I realized that it actually may be a feasible feat for me to do. I was one of those people that played New Horizons to the ground in its early months, and then got completely burnt out as a result. I remember Christmas 2020 was the last season I really decorated for & played on New Horizons until the 2.0 update in Nov 2021! In my hiatus from ACNH, I obsessively played Pocket Camp & New Leaf, until the huge 2.0 update drew me back in.

At that point, I had played over 1,000 hours of game play, and had over 6,000 Nook Miles saved up. Now that I play ACNH daily again, I've actually been playing while keeping the goals of completing things in mind. I recently tackled the very tedious feat of obtaining a complete clothing catalog! I thought I had a lot of clothes pre-2.0, but I still needed over 1,700 clothes to complete my clothing catalog! With trading galore, and a few good souls I have encountered along the way to help me in this completion journey (shout out to BrokenSanity here in the forums), I am down to just 3 more clothing items left to complete my clothing catalog! 😁 They're all summer items, so instead of desperately seeking them, I'm just gonna enjoy when those items come naturally to me during game play one day. It would feel more like a victory then!

My next completionist goal is to complete all of the Nook Miles achievements. Even as an in game time traveler, this will take a long time to do! But being aware of the things in game that I have to do to make progress on certain Nook Miles achievements, help me to play my game more efficiently. Things that I have totally skipped out on before, like cooking & planting crops, I try to do on a daily basis so I can hopefully some day finish those Nook Miles achievements. I have just recently been gifted the Brewstoid from my dear friend Brewster, and am 20 fossils left to finishing the fossil assessment section.

I'm also changing my island section by section, and want to really "finish" my entire island to maybe one day commemorate in a dream address. I have never done that before! I also still have HHP to "complete" and roll credits in. I'm desperately anticipating being able to change my villagers' homes to reflect their personalities more. (And to also get rid of sea basses in my villagers' homes from trades & gifts in the past🤦🏻‍♀️) I have yet to complete my museum, with only 1 sea creature left to catch for my Critterpedia. I am in Mush Season currently just so I can try to catch the elusive umbrella octopus.

But in all this, I try not to stress myself out. If I find myself doing that, I just stop playing the game for a few days until I feel motivated to play again. I'm carefully trying to avoid burnout, and also to enjoy the slow nature of the game as it's intended to be. Like I feel like I'm the only one who hasn't finished HHP, but it's really OK. Along with all of my other ACNH goals, I'll get there eventually...

I am a completionist with a lot of video games, but with the Animal Crossing series I never was before New Horizons. I'd always just play as much as I wanted, but I never really set out to complete the museum or the catalog or what have you (or I did, got bored and stopped trying). But that ended up changing with New Horizons, where I've set out to complete and obtain everything within reason. I didn't go into NH with the mindset of completing everything, but after I had played NH for awhile and been on TBT for awhile as well, I realized that it was actually doable and decided to just go for it.
