So as you may (or may not) know from my previous posts, I'm a hairstylist ^~^ So I thought this might be a fun thread to start. Ask me your hair related questions! It can be anything from hair care, to hair concerns, to how to ask a stylist for something.

I'm a natural red, will bleaching and dying my hair really "ruin it forever" as all my friends and family like to tell me? I would like to go an interesting color, but I feel pressured to leave my hair as is due to the pressure I receive from my friends and family.

Are there any ways to make hair grow faster? xD

Your hair will grow about 6 inches in a year, or about 1/2 inch a month c: you can't make your hair grow much faster than that, but eating healthy (or taking a vitamin if you're a picky eater), exercise (for better circulation) and scalp massage (for more bloodflow to the scalp and hair follicles) will keep your hair from growing more slowly.

I, too, am a natural red head :D Coloring or lightening your hair won't cause your natural hair to grow in any different. However, when used improperly, permanent haircolor or lightener can damage the hair because you're repeatedly opening up the protective layer of the hair, sometimes the point it stays open (which means your color will fade fast, and your hair will feel rough and dry).

If you've never colored your hair before, start with a semi-permanent color (which lasts 4-6 shampoos), or a demi-permanent color (which lasts 4-6 weeks). You can't make your hair any lighter with semi or demi permanent colors, but they'll wash out over time, returning you to your natural color, and your new hair growing in won't be obvious like it is with permanent color. And PLEASE don't try to color or lighten it yourself at home. Go to a salon and let a licensed professional do it c:
