Have you ever gotten a tingly feeling while someone was massaging you? How about whenever you get a hair cut? Do you like listening to the sounds of people folding crinkly paper? If so, I think you've experienced ASMR.

ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. Basically, certain sounds, movements, etc can make you feel tingly feelings in your head, back and other places on your body. Generally though, it's not sexually arousing (though maybe for some people out there? xD) it's for relaxing. More here

I never knew what ASMR was until a few years ago. I thought I was strange. I always liked touching packages to hear the crinkly noise. I also enjoyed flipping the corners of my textbooks because I enjoyed the sound that came out of it. Things like that. They always gave me a tingle in my head and I just could sit there and listen to it all day. It relaxed me so much but it was strange so I never brought it up.

But now I know what I was experiencing is a thing, having videos on Youtube make it even better. Honestly, I've fallen asleep to some videos. xD Crinkles, tapping, hand movements, hair cuts and massages are my personal triggers. There are many out there and I believe everyone can experience ASMR...they just have to find the right trigger.

Triggers can be almost anything. Have you guys experienced this?

RRCherryPie was a way I would relax, the crinkling of the paper was definitely part of it. I also enjoy the sound of something being poured quickly, keyboard clicks of certain keyboards, white noise, clocks...

Hnggg yes. RR is def one of the best ASMR channels! The scraping of the spoons against the container, the crinkling of the plastic, hng.

Ah! I've watched RRCherryPie! I highly recommend Mosogourmet. It's another cooking channel but oh man, the sounds that come out of it are amazing. <3

My personal triggers are haircuts and massages. Specifically head massages xD If you have never had a head massage before, I would recommend getting one. It sounds really weird, but it's super relaxing.

I didn't think other people thought that way, I'm the same. I used to love watching their videos and the cutting of clay in the eraser kit videos, haha.

i love the sound of soft tapping and soft crinkling sounds.
i watch asmr videos when i cant sleep but they never give me tingles, and i dont like any whispering

once we were at kmart and my friend brushed a cooking brush on my nose and i got a lil tingle in my genitals

i think my grandma had that.. everytime i was over and she was tired, she'd say to me "Hey can you braid my hair" or "can you play with my hair" (i know that sounds pretty odd and disturbing) but she says it relaxes her and she like falls asleep within like 2mins of doing that ahah

RRCherryPie and Mosogourmet are awesome tbh

I personally love water sounds (i have 3 fish tanks in my house that's all I hear OTL) and crinkly sounds the most

i used to love asmr, but lately it doesn't help me sleep ;( I only have a few audio triggers & I got tired of them fast i guess
