Hello everyone! I've finally decided to start my own island journal in hopes of resisting the urge to reset. I've had a terrible habit of resetting my past towns in New leaf, so I hope by sharing my progress and memories of Avonlea on here, it will motivate me to make it a forever home. I hope you enjoy my future updates, feel free to comment and share your thoughts c:
Background
The island is named after a fictional community located on Prince Edward Island, Canada, which is the setting of Lucy Maud Montgomery's novel "Anne of Green Gables" and TV series "Road to Avonlea." To avoid any confusion, my island is not meant to resemble it. It's just that these series always gave me a happy and cozy feeling, which is why I named my island after Avonlea; a village that felt like a second home to me.
I will write up a better description once I start developing more areas and stick with a cohesive theme. I have been taking a lot of inspiration from the Taisho era as well as scenery from shows such as "Violet Evergarden" and "When Marnie was there." I like too many fandoms :<

bella
Loves to sing, listen to K.K. Metal, watch anime, shop, and spend time with friends.
Bella was one of my first five random move ins. To be honest, her red eyes and smile creeped me out in the beginning. As time went by, her bubbly personality has become so endearing to me~ She is now my bestie, lol. I can't imagine her leaving the island anytime soon!
chief
Loves to sing, work out, and is often seen eating sandwiches. Seems slightly more extroverted than my other cranky, Wolfgang.
Chief was my best friend in New leaf, so of course, I had to have him on my island! I adopted him from the forums here. I personally don't like Chief's new interior or default outfit... but I am enjoying getting to know him all over again and listening to his beautiful singing! xD
pekoe
A recent move in. So far, I've seen her fish and take strolls around the island. She matches my island aesthetic perfectly, so I will most likely keep her in the long run c:
poppy
Loves to read, clean, study nature, and a big lover of donuts. She can be a bit spacey at times but she is super sweet and is loved by everyone in the village.
I met her on a mystery island. I just love the cute expressions she makes when she's angry, happy, anxious, she's just so cute! ^0^
rod
Likes to take walks, fish, work out, and is often seen drinking soda. Secretly shipping him with Bella
He was one of my first two starters. I wasn't planning to keep him for too long, but his cute little quirks and big grin have definitely grown on me~ I'm not really fond of the jock personality either but Rod (and Genji) is/are definitely an exception!
whitney
Enjoys fashion, yoga, and gardening. Appears to have a crush on Chief.
I met her on a mystery island. She's like a big sister to Poppy and Bella; I love how she puts up with Bella's silly antics and boosts Poppy's confidence up when it comes to fashion. Whitney's a sweetheart <3
wolfgang
Likes to study nature, work out, explore the village, and pick on Chief. He is slightly more introverted and keeps to himself most of the time.
I adopted him from a friend. I love how mature he is and how he acts like a big brother to everyone, especially Bella! I'll start posting conversations later on as well =D

Now that I have Rod's photo, I'm actually ready to let him leave... his starter house makes me a bit sad so I'm thinking of moving him out and moving him back in just so he can have his true home interior. On the other hand, Snake or Genji match my village aesthetic a lot more than Rod... so I decided to move them both in using my amiibos to help me decide which jock should stay. Whoever stays will have to be very special to replace Rod. So far, Snake seems pretty cool but Genji's appearance doesn't really match the jock personality imo. But I'll give it some more time to decide. I only want one jock in the long run because there's only so much I can take listening to conversations about abs and muscles. >.>
