I already have Muffy in my work-in-progress Halloween Town. Now she's moving in to my main one soon. And can she have the decency to move in to where I vacated Julien...or where Katt just moved out??? No! She's plunking in a new plot right in front of my bridge. Argh!

And to top it all off, Katt just left my main town only to move to my other town! And she says in her old town of "Roseberg, they were a bunch of weirdos" or something like that. Mildly funny, but her presence isn't when I want NEW villagers.

WHAT THE HECK??? Are repeats like this common? Erghhh...

That's terrible! :( Have nothing to say- I think Katt moved to your other town because they were close by or something. Happens with my sister and I when we have leaving villagers. :)

Thank you for your sympathy. Yeah...it must be the proximity thing, and the fact that I shipped Katie from one town to the other. One thing is that I like Muffy a lot. But she's not really moving so much as duplicating. I talked her out of moving from one town, so she is another Muffy that is moving to my main one.

Ah well...when I get stuff cleaned up and my town villager-ready, maybe if she is someone's dreamie I can give one of my Muffy's away. :)

How frustrating for you. How long had the desired location been vacant, prior to the new move-in? Wondering if time/cycle has any bearing on plotting.

The desired locations, as there were two, have been empty for about a week for Katt, and two days for Julian.
And since their houses left with them I assumed a new villager would take one of those plots. I even had time to grow some pink flowers in Katt's old plot, so I'm pretty sure a week is about right.

I'm thinking the one upside is that maybe soon if I end up with somebody else's dreamie I can give a Muffy and a Katt away to somebody.

Other than that, it's frustrating to not only have part of my town messed up when it's convoluted anyway, but getting duplicate villagers when this is my first AC game and I don't know any of the villagers from before. I want new ones when one finally moves, and this kills that opportunity for me.

Well I'm certain, as are the others, that it's the Proximity thing. I've traded villagers back and forth with a Co-Worker since her and I both have started to street pass each other almost every day ;-; I must say, I hope she enjoys hers because a few of mine from her are.. ahem.. Far from dreamies. x3

That truly does suck,I know your pain there :/ When I was trying to get rid of Fuschia with the hopes of getting a better villager to move in a different spot (Since I can't do the 'villager placement' trick, I leave it up to luck to get a good place) I ended up having Lucky move in right where my paths and bushes were, destroying them. I was like '...really?' >.> Lucky was also a previous villager from my sis's game who had moved, so he ended up coming to my town unexpectedly.

Sadly, random placement always happens most of the time, and rarley will you ever have a villager move in close to/and or in the exact same spot previous villagers were at. Unless you can do the 'villager placement' trick where you can plot where you want your villager to be, it makes it a whole lot harder for the player who can't do it, then leaving it up to fate to get a villager in a good spot.

You all are right. Proximity, and not knowing how to do the villager placement thing kinda screwed me.
My main town is rather pretty, I think, but VERY winding and not easy to navigate. Yeah...I'm that kind of noob!

But I had recently tried to put a bench or fountain in that same spot and Isabelle said no - so a villager going there just fries my cookies.

And yep, sometimes other's "left-overs" are less than dreamy... :)

I agree with you there. I despise when Isabelle always tells me 'I can't put that there' for there's not enough space. I'm like...seriously? It's a trashcan!! lol That and she can't put the item I want in spot I am trying to get without going to far to the left or right...lol She says ' Is that good?' and I'm like 'NO!' lol

If you decide to get rid of Muffy could you please contact me? I would love love love to have her in my town!!

Imonly21, PM me. I'll keep your note and when she is in and then ready to leave, I'll happily give her to you! I have someone lined up for Apple, and after her I'll work on getting you Muffy if you want. It may take a little while but hopefully not too long. I did my first villager "oust" a couple of days ago and it went fine. I just need to have Muffy move in so that I have the right amount of villagers again so that the next one will want to leave. :) And fyi, I'll give her to you for free. :)

There's already been more than a few times I've wanted to digitally strangle Isabelle. How is there not enough room, but if I spin in place suddenly there is??? I feel so cheap... -.-

There's your silver - though small consolation -lining, Ankhes. =}
