OK, I get it. King Arthur doesn't really do it for you guys. No worries, I can keep that bit of fan-girling to myself.
So, let's get back to what gets people reading this blog - the trials and tribulations of the inhabitants of Salem, led by their beautiful and intelligent mayor... me.
Quite a lot has happened in town over the last day or so. Donations for the park clock were quickly collected and a dedication ceremony was held this morning. I immediately began work on a new PWP - the wind turbine, which is situated behind Town Hall. This will spread the message that Salem is a green town. When I got my coffee this morning, Brewster expressed interest in having a turbine behind The Roost to power the café. Our favorite barista understands about renewable energy.
Three new humans moved into Salem. Sabrina, Theodora, and Tabitha. All three are brunettes and still in tents, but I'll be getting them into houses, probably tomorrow. Once I've finished all of my upgrades, I'll start working on amassing bells to do theirs. Then I can really start putting furniture themes together.
Tabitha and Theodora live near Town Hall and Sabrina lives across the river by the rest of the villagers. The nice thing was that I really didn't have to alter my existing paths much, just extend them a bit to go in front of the new houses.
Speaking of my house, the first expansion for my second floor (bedroom) was completed this morning. I still have one more for that floor, one more for the basement, and two each for the back and right-side rooms. Still looking for the Fairy Tale Mailbox, too. It never ends, does it?
This morning, a space was also marked out for Bonbon's new house. It's exactly where I wanted her to move! She'll be unpacking tomorrow. I can't wait to see how she fits in with the rest of the villagers.
Isabelle told me that Shampoodle finally opened up today. I'll have to check it out later and introduce myself. The only things left for Main Street to be complete are Katrina's (which will take some time) and the Dream Suite (that does go on Main Street, right?), as well as the rest of the Nooklings' upgrades. They said today that they will be closed tomorrow for upgrading. They'll be opening the Supermarket on Friday. I can't wait to get to the Home Center so I don't have to worry about the island stocking hibiscus bushes.
Poor Kitt came up to me this morning, all upset. She said that Beardo had told her she sounded silly with her catch-phrase "princess" (which is silly, because he uses the same one). That doesn't really sound like Beardo to me, so my guess is that he was teasing her, but Kitt being Kitt, she took him seriously. I told her that she was fine and she settled down.
It must be the weather that's causing all of this, because yesterday Mathilda said that she and Hazel had had an argument, but it was really her (Mathilda's) fault. She asked me to bring an apology gift to Hazel for her. Hazel was fine and Mathilda said she'd go apologize in person and try to make their relationship better. I'm waiting for Dizzy, Peggy, or Roald to come to me next.
Tomorrow is the 4th of July. I wonder if we will be having fireworks at night. Neither Isabelle nor any of the villagers have said anything, so I'm not sure. I'll keep some bells on hand, just in case there are goodies to be had.
That's about it. Turnip prices are still dropping. I may be forced to sell at a loss unless things turn around. This is why I didn't buy many.
