Background Help and Critiques?

Hi again cx

So I made this chibi thing

and I can't decide what kind of background I want to do, so why not ask you guys to?

Planning to do it in watercolor (he's colored in copics) so I don't want to do any detailed work/buildings >m<

Also looking for what I can improve on this so I can make more of these​

you could honestly just splash some watercolor on there really. you dont need to make any buildings and whatnot. just take some reds and oranges and just splash a bit on there for some color. it doesnt need to be prominent either. just kinda faded blotches of color (sorry if im no help, but it just seems like the best thing and its what i usually do)

You actually have to stretch your paper to avoid this kind of things, even if it's a paper for watercolor application ; it's still paper, it can only take a certain amount of water. There are cheap alternatives to get it fixed
