Back in December of 2016, Nintendo released a game themed around the sort-of-popular anime Osomatsu-San (Eng.: Mr. Osomatsu) called Osomatsu‑san Matsumatsuri for the 3DS, which they made into a bundle, and this included a special 3DS with a skin featuring the characters (http://www.siliconera.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/popup2_thumb.jpg). It was apparently very similar to WarioWare, and featured tons of mini-games (if I recall correctly, over 100 mini-games are in the game). Unfortunately, the game and console were only released in Japan, so there is no version available in English. And honestly? I would've loved to see and English version of this; I would have bought it with no second thoughts or any shame. The game is now highly overpriced (around $60-$100+) and even if you were to get your hands on a copy, I don't think non-Japanese consoles support the game, and sadly I can't find the entire console bundle anywhere. I was so excited to hear Nintendo actually allowed this game to be released, but it's so upsetting that I probably will never be able to play it. Please Nintendo, when the English dub comes out... aaaaaaaaaaa

Please feel free to add anything onto this little "backstory" I made! I would love to have any extra information/facts. Also, would anyone like to see more backstory/informational threads like this? I'd be happy to take any requests you may have! I seriously had way too much fun making this oops

I went ahead and checked if the digital version of the game is still available on Japanese eShop, and they're currently selling for roughly $28 USD. Unless you already own a 3DS system from the corresponding region, you'll end up paying more than just getting the packaged one.

Though, if you're willing to resort to certain third-party tools, playing any foreign game can be a thing, albeit with limited functionalities.

thank you so much for this! would you mind giving me some more information about this, though? such as, how do you access the japanese eshop? is it online or on the 3DS? can you access it without hacking or messing up your console? quick note, i don't have a japanese 3DS, i have a U.S. one. if possible, i honestly don't mind paying more. the third-party thing though... i'm not 100% sure i want to do anything bad to my 3DS; it's pretty new still and i don't have that much technological know-how, but thanks for letting me know. sorry for all the questions ^^'

Obviously, the only way to access the Japanese eShop is to obtain a 3DS from that region and connect it to the Internet. You can find these handhelds in the land of rising sun, along with certain import websites. Be aware that you're likely investing a bit more just to get that system from one country to another.
