So in the direct during the segment on dangerous critters, we see our familiar tree-shaking antics causing a nest of bees to fall and send the player running. After being stung, the dialogue refers to these as "wasps", whole previously these were "bees" in other installments.

I had a small thought today, though - if the bees are now wasps, wouldn't that mean that the item falling from the trees wouldn't be honey? It would be a wasps' nest! It makes me curious if there will be two different dangerous insects falling from trees, both wasps AND bees, maybe dropping different items. And maybe one gives you the classic eye welt and the other knocks you out.

What do you think? Do you think bees are solely wasps now? Will wasps start making honey?

I think there will still be honey bees. The wasp replaces the regular bee.

Wait, there was a difference between bees and honey bees? Suddenly I'm not sure if I never knew that, or just somehow forgot...

Yep. Bees fall out of trees and chase you, honey bees hover around flowers and are harmless.

there are many many kinds of bees! kind of like how there are many types of fish or butterflies.

The wasps in the video looked like it gave welts the first time it showed them. Perhaps passing out is either a random consequence of getting stung or after being stung a repeated time? I'm... nervous to find out...

Honeybees are still in the game though! I saw them in someone's inventory at one point. A wasps nest was seen in inventory in another scene. So, I think wasps have replaced bees and honeybees are still in game in the same capacity as before.

I liked the bees we've always had.
The honeycomb made a nice decoration.

Wasps if I remember are invaders and steal homes from bees, so that’s still honey

Alright, I think I did know while playing and had just forgotten xD Thanks for the refresher

To add on, as a simple understanding, bees are nice and kind and bump you if you are too close to the hive: stinging only as a lost resort, wasps on the other hand, are jerks and a-holes that attack you regardless if you bother them or not.

We have no idea if they're completely replacing the normal bees or not, but we've seen that stings can definitely cause you to pass out. I'm guessing it's probably a multiple occurrence thing, as the player also had the swollen eyes when they shook the tree.

I hope we have all three: Honey Bees, Bees, and Wasps. Bees can just sting you and give you and eye welt & Wasps make you pass out.

Are there going to be hornets?
Because I'm sure we'll get a Game Over if one of those sting us!!! (유Д유〣)

As far as I remember, there has never been honey or honeycombs in the game, so there is nothing to worry about with the changing to wasps. What you are referring to was a "beehive". Now it's a "Wasphive". Just a different name. There is no harm.

i suppose wasps will be replacing the bees in terms of being able to sting you, but honeybees will likely still be in the game

As someone who's been stung repeated by wasps... it is not fun, and I definitely felt like passing out from the pain. Wasps just make more sense.

Yeah wasps are scary. We should have some nice, docile bumblebees to make up for them—just bumbling along, ready to line up in front of the museum if you ask them to :3

Wasps are terrifying! They'll definitely make me wanna run away real fast if I spot one! (In real life or in game!) I'm sure there's multiple types of bees in this game! I mean, we need to fill up the museum somehow! x3 It would suck to be just filled with cicadas and beetles, haha!

Honeybees are definitely still in the game! You can see one in this screenshot on the left side.

I also hope we have bumblebees, which are my favorite insects. So fuzzy, I wanna pet them
