Well, I just got back from a concert that my brother and I played at, and I must say, it is the best one I've ever played, for many reasons. Now, let me get one thing out of the way; I didn't even expect payment for the performance.

So, long story short, my brother and I were asked to perform at a retirement home where my (now deceased) great-grandmother used to live. We accepted, of course, but my brother kind of chickened out and only played one piece instead of three. In any case, today was the day of the performance, and it went EXTREMELY well; now, normally, at concerts I make roughly 5 mistakes per 8 pieces. This time, though, I only made 1 mistake for the 8 pieces I played... And it went COMPLETELY unnoticed!

After finishing, I got off the stage, and the announcer (who is a good friend of my grandmother, [daughter of my great-grandmother] who used to work there) came up to me with a letter and a CD.

"This is something for you and your brother."

Turns out the letter contained $50, and the CD was by a musician I had met some time ago (who is a phenomenal guitarist), Tim Sparks. Wow.

Goes to show you that if you don't expect and want something, you might actually get it.

Thats cool.I wish somebody would just hand a letter that contained 50 bucks.

Well, I wasn't just handed it. It took months of practicing and years of playing, you know.

I know.I ment just someone walking and handed it to me out of the blue.

Congrats! As some say, practice makes perfect, and it definitely seems as though your getting there.

All of you concert stories have something to do with a girl towards the end of them! =o

Not this one. Well... If you don't count my grandmother. >_<

@ Darth - Yeah, depends on which teacher we're talking about.

I counted your grandma. :gyroidveryhappy:

Oh, and by the way, I sadly did not manage to get anyone to record it... My mom just dropped me off there, whereas grandmother was waiting in the corridor with my sister and my 2 year old cousin.
