best strategy for spotting shooting stars?

hiya guys!

so, today celeste is in my town and the sky is completely clear.

i've been standing at the beach looking at the sky for about an hour and there are no signs of shooting stars whatsoever.

is there a method to spot them? like a place on the map where it's easier to see them idk i'm kinda desperate. i've wished on shooting stars a bunch of times but i can never find the large star fragment and i really want to craft the wand recipes that i've got.

is it completely random and i just need to keep looking at the sky for hours? aaaaaaaaa

I like standing on one of the rocky outcroppings on the beach, nothing in hand, with the view pre-emptively tilted up.
The secret: I don't even watch the screen I just turn the volume way up and press (A) a few times every time I hear a jingle

Note: some star showers spawn stars more frequently than others. My first one I made 300 wishes on or so, my second less than 20 in the same time

I just walk around, the sound they make is really obvious and you can easily look at the sky before they're half way down. I've only had one meteor shower but I easily racked up 50 wishes just walking around for 15 minutes.

Just by the way: Celeste being in your town does not mean you're necessarily going to have a meteor shower. Also you can have a meteor shower without Celeste. I have Celeste tonight as well, but I am not having a meteor shower.

i don't think so. both hemispheres have shooting stars... i'm in the south and have seen them

I'll let you know if I have another meteor shower if it's similar or if I just had an unusually large number of shooting stars that time. I tend to get a minimum of 2-3 stars in quick succession every time I hear the start twinkle noise.

i finally just spotted some shooting stars!! i was able to make 4 wishes
listening to their sound is way better than staring at the screen lol

For me, they don't show up until reaaaaaally late like 11:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Also, they make a very faint chime- like sound, so you have to be very careful and make sure you aren't holding any tools when you see them.
