I don't hate dogs BUT this one motherf***er German shepherd dog my cousin had was really scary. One time I came to his home and his big bloodthirsty dog was freed in his backyard. I tried to pet him but I think he forgot who I was.. so that * ran after me xD I ran as fast as possible and went inside. Omg that was so scary lol

I now prefer puppies.....

Big dogs are intimidating. I have one, one of our helpers brought a puppy and he's a mix.
He's been a handful and has been successful in dragging me when I try to hold it down (he breaks his chains sometimes).

My grandma had a St. Bernard too (named TINY of all things...) he was a sweetheart. Just drool-y and such. Intimidated me when I was really young though. He was like a giant!

I don’t love big dogs either. My neighbors, who have a kid I used to be friends with, had a Rottweiler that automatically assumed anyone who wasn’t his family a threat. I was actually pinned down by it and just lay there in the fetal position, praying he wouldn’t bite me.

god i love big dogs but i can see how a bad encounter with one could make them intimidating

i'm currently living in a pet friendly building with a massive dog park out back so naturally there are a lot of dogs everywhere. some of them... could be trained better, but there's also this enormous and really friendly one that takes up half the elevator and it's so GOOD. if i ever get a dog in the future i'd love a big one!!

I don’t like big dogs at all. I’m just never sure what they’re going to do, whether they’re going to attack me or not, etc...

I don't really like dogs and I prefer not to go near them, they're too hyper and drooly for my liking.

I love big dogs.
I had a german shepherd for years.

What an amazing and loyal friend.

He could intimidate anyone but me.
It was quite funny to see grown men tremble.

I can see why people think big doggos are scary, especially if they have had bad encounters with them. To me they're like any other doggo, they just need to be raised properly and they're fine! My Uncle has a super cute Akita who is really friendly and clever ^w^

some of them can be gentle giants. german shepards can be real sweet if raised right with enough love an d affection and of course, training. its the tiny chihuahua you should be afraid of. god, have you seen one of them? they're devils wearing dog skin.

I used to be scared of dogs, so I was scared of any dog tbh didn't matter if they were big or small. I mean i'm still a little scared, but not as much as I used to be, I find big dogs are usually the most sweet and friendly imo, little dogs are what you should look out for some of them can be pretty rough for small dogs. My brother has a frenchie, and he literally tries to fight everyone and everything.

This thread just reminded me of what happened to me a few years ago. I was just biking in a schoolyard with my dad and some random person came in with two dogs and freed them from their leash. As I was going around on my bike, I made slight eye contact with them and they chased me down. I fell off my bike, scraped my knee, and they pinned me down. Luckily, they were not big dogs so who knows how worse that would've gone...

In general, I don't mind dogs of all sizes. In fact, I want to cuddle big ones if I had the permission to do so. ^_^ But sudden barks at me will throw me off...

Some dogs think that eye contact/staring is considered dangerous so that's probably why they chased you >-< sorry for what happened to you

I personally like big dogs for the reason MilkHunter described. I like that most of the ones I have met were gentle giants.

There was a big dog that knocked me over when I was a kid tho, and for years I had a fear of medium sized dogs...

We have a border collie, which is considered a medium to large dog. I love bigger dogs, 99% of the time they are super sweet. When a dog is bad, it comes down the the owner.

I grew up with a small dog, about 15 pounds. I was so excited when my husband wanted to get a puppy, and was good with a medium sized

I'm not afraid of all big dogs, but I was attacked by a Rottweiler when I was five or six and I'm afraid it's made me prejudice against that breed. I always freeze up whenever I see one.

I generally like big dogs. The only time I would be intimidated is if they're acting aggressive towards me. Most big dogs I've met were very well behaved, so I haven't had any problems with them.

I've never been afraid of dogs, but I remember a friend I had when I was a kid owned two dogs. There were times when I went to stay at her house, and her dogs were always extremely alert whenever I first came into the house and even the next morning, like they could never remember who I was. It was unsettling, they would bark constantly and if I was on a different floor of the house from them I'd hear them running up/downstairs while barking, it made me VERY uneasy.

I've never had a dog, though I personally would love one, and just one. Any more than that is too much for me, if one gets worked up then it gets the other worked up and it becomes a barking mess.

I'm a fan of huge dogs and big dogs was never rude at me.
That dog that ran at you he needs to be train.
