This is Big Lake, an unassuming name for an unassuming island. Themed after a Hawaiian island, there are all sorts of attractions, including a nature trail leading to the island's lighthouse, a shopping center, a monument remembering Satoru Iwata, and many more. Most villagers have extended stays, choosing to live in one of the island homes for weeks or months at a time.
Plans for renovations are still underway, but a limit on bridge and incline construction has hampered most progress. Eventually, Big Lake will grow into the island it wants to be.
