Bits from other towns that have inspired you

Which bits from other towns have inspired the way you have shaped you town ? For instance I never really thought of a use for the exhibit halls in the Museum until I wandered round some other peoples towns and saw they had two rooms chocked FULL of Gyroids, made me wish I hadn't sold all mine ! Same with the Nintendo items, I went to one town that had every item in one room and it looked great like a proper Ninty Museum ! Needless to say as soon as I got back to my town I got all the stuff I had out of my basement and did the same freeing up a room in my house.

What about you guys ? What moments have you been walking round another town and thought "Wow, that's an awesome idea"

Paths!
I never would of had a path- I changed when I saw the paths in some of Lin & Ko's videos!

The most I took from other towns were just pw projects they had placed around. I really liked the look of the bus stop, I thought it was a type of shed at first to put shovels and axes so now I have one in my woodsy part of town next to a cabin and campsite.

Paths, like most people I'm sure. Also I saw some zen stuff for the first time and decided that's how I want to theme my whole town! Still working on it, my only Cranky is a jerk about never suggesting pwps XD

Someone scolded me once about grass-wear, so I think if I ever get a second town, it'll be a desolate town where i deliberately kill most of the grass. (I was gonna do that with my first town.. but got way too attached lol)

Aww thanks, I just never would have guessed it was a bus-stop. It has no seats and fire-wood stacked next to it after all. I just need to put in a totem pole and a couple more cedars and that area will be ready.

Oooh I'd love to see it sometime. I was also inspired to do a park(play park) by the infamous LION town, they pulled it off way better than me though.

I'm also decorating with mushrooms too because I saw that a lot in some Japanese towns. They're all around my town tree. It looks really cute imo

Mostly seeing pwp I normally wouldn't have bothered with. I'm trying to get the bus stop because I fell in love with it after seeing it in a few towns.

And after visiting a friend with natural paths I got really inspired to have my own

I got the idea from a R/L friend for an orchard so I began making one and then I began making a forest of bamboo.

Using mushrooms and lost items as decoration and putting sea shells on the ramp on the way down to the beach... Can't believe I didn't think of that myself before I went to a couple of dream towns

The gyroid room was definitely one thing that inspired me to keep gyroids. And I think I'm going to now steal the seashell ramp thing from the poster above. XD

Also using bushes as part of a pathway fascinated me enough to actually bother with paths in the first place.

Does anyone know of some really cool flower and bushes set ups? I have a couple empty spots in my town that I want to do things with.
Using trees and bushes as guidelines for paths. Also, tree stumps are awesome.

I did copy one thing, and that's this really pretty bush + flower design around the lighthouse. Also, I have to use QR codes for paths because I'm terrible at designing anything complex. I started using paths for grass deterioration reasons, not because everyone else does it - if there was no grass deterioration I wouldn't make paths. I like natural looking towns best.

Other than that, I try not to copy other people's towns. Too many towns end up looking the same, IMO. My favorite thing so far that I've done without ideas is what I did around my zen garden PWP. It looks terrible just sitting some place, not like a real Japanese garden. So I put water-looking paths around it, as well as a mini-forest of bamboo. It looks awesome. I just need to do a few minor fixes to it to make it perfect, but otherwise I love it. It, the lighthouse, and my park areas are probably the best uses of PWP I have in my town so far.

The best little idea I saw in another persons town was Roselia's heart shape of bushes. (boxed in with inaccessible flowers inside.) I've now put a squashed diamond of Azaleas in my town with lillies in the middle as an experiment. Been considering attempting card suits or a few other little things about once I finish lining my paths.

I done the same, saw it and fell in love with it and now have mine in my campground area.

Well since I go to a lot of horror towns, I like to take snippets of ideas to use in my horror Alice in Wonderland town. Like a palace room and behind it is a graveyard of the Queen's victim's.

Usually I go to dream towns to see the players' houses. I was inspired by many "shop kitchens" to make an ice-cream parlor in my back room ^^
