Brawl Characters Totaled Yet?

How many characters will there be on Brawl? I've heard MANY different answers from way back when it was called the Revolution...but is it totalled yet?

30-40 seems like a viable possibility, especially taking into account everything Mr. Sakurai has said regarding character count.

This scared me for a minute thinking I might be psychic or something. I had a dream a couple nights ago where I didn't play brawl but I was at something like GDC, and I saw the character selection screen shown.... I meant to look at who was in it but was distracted by something else in the dream..... I thought seeing this they might have actually shown the character list or something




In that dream there was also a super princess peach 2 involving peach riding on birdo.... *shudders*

anyway I don't think they have been revealing anything on it yet

I would say that, in addition to new characters, there will be all the previous ones. I'm guessing... 36 characters.

I'm thinking around 40-45. Well just think, you need to fit ALL of them on a screen. So I don't think it's going into the 50's or 60's.

in the dream I can remember the screen well enough... there where 4 rows, 3 with 7 and one with 4... so 39 in total

Sakurai said so himself.. don't ask me when because I don't remember, I just know he did.
