I've had this game since December in 2008, and only now i find out Brewster collects gyroids.
I had one in my inventory and decided to talk to him, and he mentioned he collects them and took the one i had into storage.

So, did anyone else know of this?

I've never actually cared about gyroids so that's probably why.

NeWay, i just googled, and i found out you need to drink 7 coffees without letting them cool then talk to him with a gyroid in your inventory, then you'll have the storage.
Still kinda weird it' taken me 3 and a half years to find this :S

yeah i knew about this, I found out like you did. I was wondering however what the purpose of it was. Is it simply storage for collectors?

yeah, nothing else.
I'm probably gonna start using it, just so i can collect gyroids but not use space of my own

It has probably been a while since I had first found out about it. I'm just surprised you hadn't found out about it earlier!

You really didn't know that?
After you have a certain number of cups of coffee, if you're carrying a gyroid he will ask you if you want him to store it. Cute little touch, but it's not really that useful.

Don't worry Bidoof, I never knew this either. Then again, I haven't really played CF as much as some of the others on here

yeah, it took me a few years to figure out how to plant a red turnip on ACWW haha. i was dumb then

By the way, I think I've read somewhere that the total amount of days in a row you have to go there to achieve it is 7. You also have to drink the coffee right away (in other words, don't choose the waiting option when the Brewster gives it to you).

I don't think this is true. You just have to drink a certain number of cups of coffee, then if you're holding a gyroid after you finish a cup, Brewster will ask you if you want him to store it.

On the topic of gyroids, when did you get your first one? Mine was a prize after a game of hide-and-seek. I assume they did this to make it more difficult to unlock the gyroid storage and once you do you can dig them up. I may be completely off, but I didn't dig up a single gyroid until after I got Brewster's storage. (I do know that gyroids are burried after it rains, maybe it wasn't raining...)

Also, does anyone know if they are returning in AC:3DS? I liked they gyroid from the GameCube version that was outside your house saved the game for you. I'd like to see that return as well as the option to leave a note when you leave your house like your neighbors do. (I think your gyroid was the one that did that...)

I'm with you on this one. I didn't realize it for 2 or 3 years after I had the game. Also learned of it by accident.

I have been keeping any new gyroids with Brewster and selling duplicates I find for about 8 months now probably...

I put it in the first post ages ago...
You have to buy 7 coffees with out letting them cool, they don't have to be every conceding day, just as long as you drink 7 in a row without them cooling, then you talk to him with a gyroid in pockets and yeah

Lol, oops.

Sorry, I didn't see that on the first post.

I've been collecting gyroids and selling off spares only. I still don't have all the possible gyriods though. I knew about the storage since day one of my game. *Giggles* I have the guide for the game!

I'm just giving them to Brewster for something to do in the game

Do you really need to advertise posting in my thread?

This is why you can post messinesses on peoples profiles...

Interesting, I had no idea this was a thing. Kind of makes me happy, I always loved the Gyroids when I played Wild World all the time. But there was never enough space to store them effectively. : ( Also, I will be the saddest person ever if Gyroids got cut from the 3DS game.

I never used Gyroids...

Idc if they're in the 3DS version, if they are i'll probably try them out, if not, meh
