Bringing ACNL to HHD

So while going through my Special amiibo cards today and scanning them in to HHD I decided finally what I wanted to do with most of them, I decided that I would try to recreate their respective buildings from ACNL on the main floor and then build them personal house/rooms on one of the other floors.

I started today with Isabelle building as true of a replica as I could muster of the town hall on her first floor and I am going to build her a relaxing apartment upstairs.

For the Resetti's I built the reset center, but above ground, and then I put a manhole in the middle of the floor (Don showed a heart above his head) and I am going to build their "house" in the basement and make that bit underground with dirt walls and the like.

I started also doing Leila's house for her family, and I did the island shop on the main part and I am going to make Kapp'n and Leilani a room to share, and then a room for Grams and Leila, not sure which floor for which yet though.

For Timmy and Tommy I am going to build one version of their shop (I am thinking of TIY cause I think Junction would be too small...) and then either give them each a floor or split a room for them to share.

For Reece/Cyrus I will build re-tail on the first floor and then build them a nice apartment upstairs most likely.

I plan to do similar for all of my special characters like this and thought it would be a neat idea! Has anybody else done something similar? Or even building the actual villager's house that they start off with in ACNL? It's been fun trying to recreate the one I've started on so far!

Oh wow, you took this idea to the next level, it's great! Personally, I was going all-out on the interior but I do try to make the house exterior match the ones from previous games. I find it fun trying to match the garden to the default exterior (no matter how ugly!)

You are braver than I! I have so many houses that look so similar. Most of the villagers who request shops I always give them the biggest square buildings cause they're the most "industrial" and for the beach houses I mostly do the thatched rounded roofs cause they look islandy to me. Also I do a lot of matching to the characters themselves as for the exteriors. Matching the exteriors to the buildings from previous games is proving a bit challenging but maybe when I unlock more thing I can get closer to true outsides, I know the Kapp'n building is the right shape cause thankfully that is offered, but I'm sad there isn't one closer to the shape of the other buildings, especially for the largest sized ones.

ALSO I just totally remembered that I need to put a shell in Isabelle's room on a shelf like when in ACNL she said she'd keep your shell you brought her from the beach forever!
 
There are definitly things I am going to have to go back to ACNL to get the exact details, and it sucks you can't like "askew" things in HHD like in Sims 3 cause there are a lot of things that aren't perfectly straight that I just need to turn... and also I need some more smaller things to leave about. I will post pictures when I get more work done on these houses cause I think they'll turn out neat!
 
Do you have screens or QR codes of the finished houses? I'd love to see them *.*
 
Sounds kinda cool, however only special I have now I have is Harriet and I made hers a combined food/hair salon, so kind of meta-building but with a twist. I don't think I could make exact replicas because I played NL way too much but who knows ;)
 
I'm doing that to a certain extent. The only true replica I've created so far is I re-created the Able Sisters' shop with Mabel's card.

I didn't think to do the town hall with Isabelle. Honestly, maybe I should. I'm pretty unhappy with how I did her house, TBH, and was thinking of redesigning it anyway.

It's been so long since I've gotten to go in the Reset Surveillance Center so I forgot what it looks like inside. But I did try to make my own version for Resetti's main room, and then the second room is a bedroom.

For KK Slider I made his house be a recording studio in the main room, a comfy bedroom in the second room, and his yard is a stage where people can watch free shows.

For Tom Nook I made his like a regular house, but for him to count his money in.

For Redd, I gave him a fancy, upscale version of his tent. It's like he suddenly now has a fancy looking shop. The back room is where he stores his cash and makes counterfeit cash.

For Lottie, I just gave her a comfy apartment. I didn't change it too much from her original "practice" design, I just made it bigger. It's pink, has a river (since she's an otter), and it has a picture of her crush, Digby.

I gave Pascal a relaxing island cabin and shaved-ice stand. It has scallops!

Blanca's house is inspired by the temple of the God of Many Faces from Game of Thrones.

I haven't finished the others yet.

I'll definitely post them when I get them finished I've just started working on them! Also built the main floor of Club LOL today.

These all sound really neat, as for the reset center I just looked up pics of it online, I didn't include the bathroom though, and I used the porta potties for their "lockers" anyways so it's like a 2 for one. XD For the other SP's that didn't have "buildings" in New Leaf I am just winging it.

I started Blanca's house today and I am making it like a serial killer house? She has clothing made out of the skin of other animals in the game next to pictures of them and there is blood on the floor... I think I am going to make the main floor all normal and then have the basement have all the skins and stuff. XD

K.K. I made a 2 floor house so far with a bar on the main floor, and an underground dance club, I really wish "muffled music" was a soundscape option cause I want to make his house above in the top floor and have like muffled music from the club below and have it be like a totally chill pad for him maybe with a little song writing desk and stuff.

I also gave Lottie a picture of Digby and made her a little "date" table with his picture across from it and left it super pink and stuff.

I started Nat's today but I was bummed I didn't have much bug furniture yet, I'm gunna make him a pretty little nature restaurant with bugs all around, but I have to wait to unlock some more stuff for it. Chip I made a seafood restaurant so I guess I like the restaurant idea for them both because they just eat all your entries. XD

Not really sure what to do for Jack yet but I am leaning towards a Halloween-y candy/sweets shoppe?

Don't have too many ideas about the rest of the SPs I have either...
 
I sorta had the same thought yesterday when making Isabelle's house via her amiibo, though beyond that I hadn't really thought about making ACNL stuff in HHM. If I had more SP cards (just started collecting them, so I don't have much) I'd probably consider it some more.

The candy shop for Jack sounds like a great idea imo. If not, perhaps consider a costume shop? (where every villager was able to get their "obviously not Jack" pumpkin masks, haha)
 
Made Timmy and Tommy's house and posted it on the Happy Home Network 0891-7765-753 I'll probably have a few of the others done later and I'll post those as well! Let me know what you think when and if you visit!

Wow oh my gosh that sounds absolutely amazing. Thats kinda the idea that I want to do with my special characters. I did that as best I could with Tortimers house. I put his house on the beach and decorated it with palm trees and what not. The inside of the house is cute and has bamboo walls and flooring and I made it look like the inside of the island cabin thingy. I love the idea of incorporating all the special villagers homes/businesses from ACNL!

I was considering trying to make the exterior of each villager's house resemble as much as possible as their default home in ACNL. I was going to do something like that with Isabelle's house too; one of her rooms is designed like town hall in ACNL. Since my town in ACNL was inspired by Dragon Age, I decided to make the rest of her house relate to the game as well; the main room is the chantry and the basement is her bedroom based on a house that the Inquisitor stayed in, at the Inquisition's first headquarters at Haven.

When it comes to designing houses, I try to make mine as unique as possible ~ even if I decide to stick to the theme of their original request. So far, of the special characters, I've designed only Redd and Saharah's houses like stores. I really want to edit Redd's house now, but I'm not sure if I should since I hate how your ratings go back to 0 for that house if you submit the edited version of a house to replace the previous uploaded version.
 
Got Reese and Cyrus' almost done but have to switch out their stools because I just found out the wood stool can be customized to match the ones from their shop! And I also have to go back to KK's and re-do it one more time because I found out the mug can be customized to be a beer mug and I am all about that instead of using the darn oil bottles that hardly look like beer bottles... they'd make for a good wine bottle though if I wanted to do a winery... hmm, now whose house should have a winery in it?
