Bunny Day Glitch

As you may know, there is a decently well-known glitch that could occur on Bunny Day in Animal Crossing New Leaf. And for whatever reason, it causes the rocks that spawn for stone eggs to stay in town forever if you do not break them with an axe or shovel. If you decided to open your town on Bunny Day, be ABSOLUTELY SURE that you hit all the rocks in town every time you see one.

I'm not sure if this glitch has been patched, but I wanted to go ahead and inform you all of it, just in case!

New Leaf hasn't had any software updates so it probably hasn't been patched.

However, the lava lamp glitch is only in the American copies so this could be a regional thing too.

Surprised this glitch isn't listed on the Animal Crossing Wikia.

Nope. The stones will be in your town forever. Unless you reset, which would mean giving UP your town... So I say hit all the rocks every time you see one.

Or it could just mean wapping out the old Cubic Ninja to edit the map.

Seriously though, that sounds like a really bad bug. I'd expect the game to have the differences clearly labelled to avoid something like this from happening.

No, no it will not. As I said in my original post, if you chose to open up your town and you do not hit any rocks, the glitch will affect you. The rocks will stay in your town forever.

THIS EXPLAINS SO MUCH. Thank you for posting about this. I have a few mysterious rocks that have been in just terrible spots in my town and I'm pretty sure now that this is why. I will probably be skipping Bunny Day to avoid the glitch if this is the case.

The latter is correct. For Bunny Day, some eggs are limited. There are a limited number of trees you can shake, there are a limited number of rocks you could hit. There is also a limited amount of dig spots.

However, the ones you can get from fishing, balloons, and diving, those are unlimited.

actually, i heard this'll fix the issue but i'm not sure.

It has been reported that time traveling to a day after Bunny Day, then loading the game, then turning off the system without saving, can fix this issue.

can anybody confirm if this'll solve the glitch?

There are many theories on that subject.

One theory suggests that Phyllis, the nighttime postal worker, is in the suit. After all, she hates her job, similar to how Zipper hates his. However, this has been proven false because you can still see Phyllis in the post office at nighttime.

Another theory is that Tom Nook is in the suit, but he can be found in Nook's Homes on Bunny Day.

And one more theory suggests that Lyle is in the suit, because Lyle also hates his job. But more interestingly, in Animal Crossing: City Folk, (or "Let's Go to the City!" in Europe) Lyle was not in the Happy Room Academy on Bunny Day!

...But, in New Leaf, we can see that Lyle is not Zipper, because he can be found in Nook's Homes on Bunny Day.

Nope. If you save and quit and don't log back in until after Bunny Day, you're hosed. Even if you go BACK to Bunny Day they still behave like normal rocks. At least from what I remember.
