Buying flowers?

New to the game, first AC title I've played.
Curious how one goes about selling/buying hybrid flowers? With Dodo codes the visitor can't come dig them up, so does the owner just come over and plant them on your island? I don't think I'm able to "drop" a flower that I dig up.
Appreciate the info.

You would go to nooks cranny to trade.

As far as buying and selling flowers, usually the person that grew the flowers will dig them up and bring them to the other party.
It will allow you to plant the flowers on other peoples islands.

you can plant flowers in others' islands, so the seller will generally go to the buyer's island in that case. if you're trading flowers you can register each other as best friends which lets you dig on each other's islands
