Camper declined move in

So I've had two "natural" campers (I also do a lot if amiibo but now only let them move out naturally). From what I recall (Sterling was so long ago) both were okay with moving in and I even had the chance to pick who was booted. Backed out because I didn't actually want them but I wanted to know.

Now Ruby is here who I desperately want to get for my friend, and she keeps declining moving in. Does anyone have insight to this?

It doesn't look like any of my other villagers are waiting to talk to me about maybe moving out which is the only thing I can think would change it. I can't accept that it's just random because villager move in and outs have otherwise been so controlled this game.

Do you have 10 plots already?

That's really weird! I haven't heard of that happening. I thought you always had the choice to recruit the camper and boot out a current resident. I hope someone else has more insight on this.

Yes, but the 10 plots were never an issue when Sterling and Prince camped.

Right! That was the option twice prior to this.

Based on one of her many phrasings for declining ("I have friends back home")... thought about how I just had friend who wants her and their two other friends over for shooting stars. Working on confirming if she's visiting from their island... not sure if that's a stretch.

Okay newest development. I told her "see ya!" Instead of inviting for like the 10th time. Next time I asked her to move in, she was like okay we'll play a game and if you win I'll move here. Wonder if it's a personality type thing or a random thing... annoying thing is it's the same guess which card suit game, which I lost once and won once to already prior.

I thought random campers had to have an open plot while amiibo ones could boot out a current islander?

I lost that twice. Then she switched to "red or black" and I won lol.

Morale of the story never give up.

No it works for normal campers too if you're full up. Some of them just more of a headache than others apparently.

Sorry, straight documenting here. So yhe other post I saw is true and she suggests who to replace. Even though I SWEAR Prince offered to let me pick the same way as amiibos. Anyway. Declined and experimented and she suggested the same villager 3 times in a row. I have his amiibo so I'll go for it but I officially hate Ruby and wouldn't bother doing this if it weren't a friends dreamie. I'm betting it's a peppy thing. Thanks for reading the journey.

So if we have a camper that we like but our town is full, do we get to choose who to boot out?

Not in Ruby's case. She picked. But again, I swear Prince was going to let me pick last time but I never went through with it, and I don't always trust my memory (to be fair, also there's been various patches right?). I'd need to confirm that again with a non peppy villager.
