I scanned in and invited a villager from an amiibo card like 2 days ago but they have yet to show up to my campsite. I as under the impression they would should up the next day but maybe it takes a few days? Do I have to have a plot of land ready for them to show up?

edit: Oh wait a minute, no they should be right there in your campsite right after you scan them in. They're not there?

---

You have to invite them again (total of three days).

For example, I'm in the middle of doing this myself for Kabuki. I have to scan him in, do his DIY, then talk to him til I invite him. He says he needs to be invited again. Scanned him in again today (can only be done once a day), did another DIY per his request, then kept talking to him til he hints he wants to stay again. Tomorrow, I have to do it all over again one more time. Then, he'll finally give in and accept your invite.

I'd make a plot that same day (3rd day) to make sure no one else random moves in.

Just to piggyback off this question, how do we unlock the ability to scan in Amiibo cards? My campsite went up today, and I invited my smug villager in. I'm assuming obviously whatever I need to do will be done tomorrow, but what exactly DO I need to do?

Tomorrow when you visit residential services, Tom Nook will tell you how to proceed and the feature should then be unlocked at the Nook Stop Terminal.

what a PROCESS. oh god i won't be shocked that once they fix the moving out issue from forced kicking, the prices to get a dreamie would SOAR.

i just invited a villager via amiibo card today (3rd visit).. although it is quite.. tedious? i guess? i didn't really mind it because i got 3 new diy recipes and other items in exchange for the things i had to make them

oh we get diy recipes to make them? cool then. i'm gonna lose my mind if i won't have the recipe or had to work to get them.

Well the first day was a new DIY, then yesterday wasn't (just a pot), so I think it varies. But no I don't think they'd ask for something they're not willing to provide, so that's good at least lol!
