Campsite / New Villager Qs

Hey guys, I was just wondering for how long a villager will remain at your campsite for? I swear I have had Colton for at least 4 days now, and I have not spoken to him because I heard your first campsite villager will move-in regardless.

When I visit the Nook island, I get no villagers there! Am I doomed to invite Colton or will someone new eventually come along? :c

Unfortunately, the villager move ins are related to a sort of 'story' related to your island's progress. You can't really control them much at all.

Well you have to speak to Colton to get him to move in. He'll stay until you do. It's kind of a forced random. You're lucky you at least got Colton though! I was not so lucky.

You are unfortunately doomed to invite Colton. The villagers on the islands will not reappear until you: 1) do this and therefore unlock the amiibo feature on the campsite (which you unlock the day Colton moves in if I recall correctly) and 2) have an EMPTY house plot on your island that someone could move into, which you have to buy from Nook for 10k bells and place on the island prior to visiting the islands.

From what I’ve read and seen so far in videos, looks like the initial camper from the campsite gets a forced invite to your island. And they’re all from the Smug personality. Given this situation, I’d be happy to even get Colton because really, among the Smugs...you could definitely get A LOT worse than him. Lol. Because of this, I’m nervous to get to that day I’ll have my campsite set up.

unfortunately, no. i've tried every possible way but due to autosaving it's literally impossible...

I was a dumbass and created them early, wanting to reserve the island spaces for them early enough. Omg right, I just bought a plot of land and before I even got the chance to go to the islands one of my villagers told me Freya was moving in, luckily I was actually thinking of getting her. But now I have to get out Colton, Tank, Clay and Shari. Ugh.

Shep is actually a smug villager, do we even have any evidence the guy had Molly? seems like every villager from your 1st campsite visit is smug

It’s a bit impossible to get Molly from the campsite unless it’s a scanned amiibo because Molly is a normal and normal villagers are one of the three locked personalities (lazy, peppy and normal) you get when Nook asks you to set up three fully furnished homes before you even acquire the campsite.

They're not locked in as smug. My first camper was Claude and he is lazy.

Really? Okay then this gives me hope. Thanks for sharing. I really am scared of a random smug cause I only like maybe 3-4 villagers from that personality pool. Lol.

I'm the opposite - I was hoping to get a smug villager as my camper. Good luck! I hope you get a camper you'll like.
