Can anyone help a new player?

Firstly, sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place.

Hello everyone. I got a Nintendo switch a few days ago and got Animal Crossing yesterday. I used to play ACNL a lot back in 2014/15 (hence my account being from then) but I haven't played since then. I have a rough idea on what I am supposed to do but it has been years since I have played any animal crossing game.

I started my island yesterday and I feel I am doing pretty well, I upgraded my tent into a house, unlocked the museum tent (which I have now donated the 15 objects to), unlocked the extra pocket space and the tool wheel, and lastly I gave Timmy or Tommy the required building materials to make the shop.
My island started with Apple trees and I got a few oranges through the post this morning. I read online that you need to do the Island adventures (the ones that cost 2000 nook miles) to be able to get the different fruit, However I have now done 3 of them, including the free one, and each time the fruit on the island has been Apples and coconuts. Now the coconuts are good but how would I be able to get different fruits such as peaches or cherries?

So I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to gift me a few of the different fruits, I have nothing I can really give in return but I would be really thank full for any help.

Every island has a native fruit. For example, mine is oranges. You will also have a secondary fruit (mine is apples) that you will find by doing a mystery island tour. So, every time you go on a mystery island tour you’ll have a chance of One or the other of those two fruits.. That’s the only two fruits you can get yourself (not counting coconuts). The only way to get other types of fruit is from other players.

By the way, flowers work the same way. You’ll have a primary flower on your island, and a secondary flowed that you can only get by visiting a mystery island. Then, all other flower types you must get by someone gifting them to you. Then, you plant the fruit or flower on your island and you’ll have a new type.

I think new type of flowers you can get them from Nook’s Cranny or Leif doesn’t it? But I don’t remember if Leif visit your island if you are new
