My town is covered in giant dirt patches and mud. I know that precipitation can help it grow back slowly, but when the snowstorm happens in December, will the grass still turn to mud by running or walking frequently over specific areas despite not being visible, or will it essentially reset with no dirt patches as long as theres snow and after it melts in February?

If I remember correctly, any grass will be snow after a snowstorm, and the mud/dirt patches will remain :(

And unfortunately I think grass grows back slowest in winter, and fastest in summer

My memory may be a bit faulty but I believe the snow will gradually start to cover the dirt patches if you don't run over it too much, but the snow can wear away just like the grass does. However, I'm pretty sure you get a fresh start in the spring when the snow melts. All of the worn down grass is revived except for the permanent dirt patches.
