Can I or Can I Not Get the 10th Villager to Move Out?

As the title reads.

GF wants to have one of her favourites in town and the one villager we've decided would be ok to move out his our 10th villager. the one who moved in last.

So without campsite move ins, can I actually get them to ask to leave, be it the thought bubble method or another?

i'm sure it doesn't matter the number of villager they are - eventually they'll cycle through and you'll be getting a question from them to move out. i've had everyone ask me at least once while trying to obtain their photos, so you just have to give it some time i think there's about a 7-12 day between when villagers ask to move out, but don't quote me on that as i don't know for sure. all i know is there is a set time frame between that question being popped.

The timeframe between moveouts is 15 days. Now this isn't guaranteed. That's when a new moveout bubble has a chance of spawning. The chance increases every single day and I believe maxes out around day 21.

However. According to the most recent datamine (which was like back in May I think) that addressed the moveout mechanics, the 10th villager is supposed to not ask to move. Obviously, as with any video game, glitches happen as well as human error so there are tons of anecdotes about people's most recent villager asking to move. I'm not saying it's impossible, but unfortunately I am saying that you shouldn't count on it. Best case scenario you'll be waiting around for your game to bug out one day.

Your best option would be to buy an amiibo card of your GF's favorite villager (assuming it's not one of the new villagers) because you get to choose any villager for an amiibo to replace.

I’ve moved out a lot of villagers, around 50, through time travel and have never had the 10th villager ask to move.

Can't say for sure, but I think if you have ten villagers, and villager 7 asks to move out and you either accept or decline, then it SHOULD in theory reset villager 10's ability to ask.
