Can most recently moved in villagers ping to leave?

I got a guy in that I wanna get out but I've been TTing to cycle the "move bubble" for like three days now and nothing.
Has anyone had their newest villager thought bubble to leave? Or am I stuck hoping for a camper? (don't have any amiibo I wanna move in, limited cards)

i've had my most recent villager ask to move out once, so im guessing its possible

I've heard conflicting reports. Some insisting they've had it happen, others insisting it's utterly impossible. One explanation that I've heard is that you have to TT quite far ahead for them to ping- not sure if that's true, but that could be why people seem conflicted on whether or not it's possible.

But I'd never count on having my newest villager move- I always move at least one other villager out first.

I move villagers in and out all the time, and I can tell you that your newest villager will ONLY ping you to leave once someone else has pinged you and you refused them...

...oh and one more thing. I don't have the concrete number here, but in my experience after you refuse to let a villager move out, it takes 3-5 days for the next ping to happen.

This is news to me.

I have 9 villagers I want to keep and Kevin. I'm waiting for him to get the move out bubble. I've been saving up nook miles tickets to go on one last search for Kiki/Lolly.
I thought if I didn't find them, I'd be stuck with the random villager that moves in.

I was prepared to wait for one of them to pop up in the campsite, which could take months. Or maybe I would eventually buy amiibo packs if it took too long.

Like I got them, then within a couple weeks they were asking to leave. Really don't think I told someone else they could not move before this person asked to move. I remember being shocked about it at the time because I was told it could not happen.

Hmmm...I'm still standing by that you have to have refused someone...because this method never fails me. Maybe someone else just has to have had the thought bubble at least?

I just assumed it was common knowledge that your newest villager wasn't put in 'rotation' to request to move until someone else attempted to first.

I just looked up Ninji's last datamine info regarding villagers moving out...and it's unfortunately inconclusive...

May 2020 it was reported that your newest villager could not ask to move. Period.
However, that was during V1.2. We're now at 1.9 so maybe something changed? If so, Ninji hasn't reported anything different.

I just asked in the Discord to see if Ninji or anyone else has any info as of now, since I'm curious.

I guess it varies? Ive had Roald ping to leave and he was my most recent villager and i handnt had anyone ping to leave prior to moving him in...so i have no idea o.o

Im pretty sure a camper can ask to replace your most recent villager but ive always heard that your most recent will never ask to leave?? if thats false im very surprised because i was convinced
