Can my villager come back? 🥺

Hey there!
So I’ve been trying to get Canberra to leave my island to get an open plot for Lopez, but Cheri asked to leave instead. I happen to have her amiibo card but didn’t use it to get her. If I let her leave and use her amiibo card to bring her back, will she reset or be the same one? Obviously would be taking over Canberra’s spot

She will reset if you use an Amiibo However, I read that villagers that move out and move back in remember you. For example, someone moves your Cheri to their town and then then you get Cheri back from them, she'll remember you. However I have no personal experience with this so take it with a grain of salt.

I can confirm she will remember you if you find someone to adopt her. I gave Raymond to a friend and when I visited he remembered me! There's a thread in the new neighbor network section where you can ask for someone to hold your villager for you until you can get her back. It's not very active, but you might get lucky and find someone to help

You could ask someone in the "Hold My Villager" thread to hold Cheri, move her out. Move in Lopez. Then move out Canberra and move your Cheri back in.

Or if you haven't accepted Cheri's decision to move out yet and you're not adverse to time traveling, you could tell her not to move. Mark the day that Cheri asked and used this method to try to get Canberra to move instead.

If you HAVE accepted Cheri's decision to move out, get another player to convince her to stay and then do the method mentioned above to get Canberra to move.

Thank you guys! I actually ended up letting Soleil leave instead, it was her time and she kind of irked me with her attitude anyway I appreciate all the help so much!
