Can the new villagers be found on mystery islands?

I would bet they can since none of the other non-Sanrio villagers are Amiibo-locked, but we just don’t know yet.

I would say yes because we saw two of them just before the end of the free update part, and also because they are in the same series as Raymond, Sherb and the other new 6 from NH

I really don't know I just hope they are not locked behind amiibo cards like the Sanrio villagers.

I wouldn't even mind if they were amiibo card locked as long as I knew I could actually buy amiibo cards before the scalpers snatch them all up. Because they are not any kind of special villagers like the sanrio bunch, I would imagine they should appear on the mystery islands though.

I think it’s very likely that they’ll be on Mystery Islands (as well as be campsite visitors, and in the starter villager pool if they’re uchi or jock).

In fact, I’d be really surprised if they’re not. I don’t see any difference between them and the original new villagers for NH.

I’m hoping so, just in case I can’t find a place to purchase the cards, as the only place I used to buy the Amiibo cards was Toys R Us, which is no longer around.

I hope they are available to all and not card only. I have the three octopi villagers that are already in and I'd like Cephalobot, the new robot and octopus villager, to move in.

I'll be surprised if they're not. They seem to be advertising them as regular villagers, so I'd expect them to be available everywhere.

Seeing as Sanrio was a crossover and exclusive to Amiibo and these ones seem to be like the new villagers introduced on launch, very much doubt these will be Amiibo. They're most likely just like Raymond, Judy etc. I see no reason they'd be Amiibo at all.

This was something I really wanted answered in the direct, but we sadly didn't get it. So I guess we'll have to wait for release and see if people find them. I really would prefer them to be out in the wild on the mystery islands cause finding someone new would be much more exciting than swiping them in.

I'm going to guess that they will be. I think it's only crossover villagers that they will have locked as amiibo exclusive. I could be wrong but that is my prediction.

I really wonder if we will be able to villager hunt on the Kapp'n islands.

Unsure.. I myself am wondering if people will be able to make and sell the "fake" amiibos of the new villagers? Very worried about scalpers scalping away my chances of getting any of the authentic cards..

I really hope so. While locking them behind amiibo would help boost amiibo pack sales, it would be a bit weird having a set with some villagers you can find on mystery islands (Raymond and the NH gang), and some others you need amiibos for. I assume only the crossover villagers will stay amiibo exclusive.
