Can visiting dream towns influence who moves in next?

I visited a dream town, and I talked to a particular villager that I liked, and a few days later he moved into my town. Does talking to villagers in dreams influence who moves in next? Or is it pure coincidence?

That happened to me as well, i met Ohare and talked to him, after a couple of days he was in my campsite. it would be cool if it works, because then everyone can get there dreamies!

Tested. Does NOT work.

I went to a dream town with Fang in it, talked to him 10-15 times. Many, many days later a campsite appeared, and it was a bloody chicken.

Nobody waste their time. Your better off resetting with all of the time I spent waiting for a camper to show up!
