Can we force villagers out of our own games using amiibos?

Just wondering if it’s safe to do this within our own games, or if the glitch only occurs when the forced out villager is traded to/adopted by someone else? thanks!

I’ve seen a few videos where they scan an amiibo into a full town and they kind of “swap” with one villager - so they move into that plot.

Yes we can. But refrain from giving away the villager you're kicking out. It will glitch people's save file for now.
