Can't find new fruits or flowers

Okay, I know you're supposed to go to the nook miles islands to find new fruit and flowers but oh my.
I have peaches in my town, my flowers are tulips, windflowers and pansies. I've been to the island SO MANY times, and there is only the same flowers that I own myself + the peaches. Only once(!) I got a new fruit, which were pears.

Like. Is it the same for you people as well? Do I need to go the island 50+ times to finally see a new fruit or flower??

Finding new fruits and flowers is actually kind of rare on the nook miles islands. You'd be better off going to someone else's town for fruits and flowers c:

Yeah, but I don't have the Switch Online, makes me kinda sad if I need to pay for more fruits?

In which case this is an obstacle you'll eventually over come with luck I suppose. You could also see if sending fruit to a villager results in a new fruit type like in previous games
