Can't play DLC on another switch with same NNID/NSO

•I have 3 Switches, a primary NH edition one, a grey lite (second) and my recently bought blue lite one (third)
•They all share the NNID/NSO from my primary, so they're all linked
•All three Switches have their own phyical copy of the game with data on them for their own islands
•But for some reason the other two switches won't play the HHP DLC. This isn't a problem for my grey one but I wanted the blue one to be able to play the DLC, I bought a phyical DLC card for it too

In order to have the blue Switch play the DLC, do I have to un-link it from my primary then create its own NNID & NSO? How do, if I can at this point, unlink the third one? I have the cards already for them but I thought I would be able to play the DLC across switches since it's the *same account*. It's kinda dumb that it won't let me, but it gives them all the online benefits.

Also please explain in dumb-dumb terms, it gets confusing.

Okay, new question, on the Eshop page under our personal icon and the 'ReDownload' section, there is an option for ACNH: Downloadable Content.

The other games all say software, these are also all digital games with no DLC. There is HW:AoC that says both software & Downloadable Content, and I did buy DLC for that game.

If I select the orange cloud with a down arrow on the ACNH option, will that download the DLC ONLY (not the data from my primary, essentially erasing my new island and replacing it with my primary island) on the Switch and allow me to play the DLC on that and my primary Switch? It's not gonna like take the DLC off my primary and put it on the third one right? The DLC will remain of on all switches that downloaded it since it's all the same account?

Basically you must deregister your main switch and then sign in onto the 2nd switch and make sure its your primary console. Since the 2nd Switch has no data on it you redownload the game since you bought the game and you own it so you can do that. Now here comes the tricky part. You cannot play the game at the same time with 2 switches. You need to create a 2nd user and a 2nd account just to make that person play the digital copy they do not own. The way this works is that your 2nd Switch must be your primary console and the main one must be deregistered. Then when you do that have the 2nd user go onto the main Switch that is deregistered and then your main user can still access the game on the 2nd Switch.

According to google:

"If you choose to delete the game from your home screen, you'll have to go back to the eShop to redownload the game (you won't have to buy it again, though.) If you want even more space available on your Switch, you can also delete the save data from the game.

Luckily, the Switch allows you to delete and reinstall games you've purchased on your Nintendo account whenever you want, with no impact on the save data"
