Can't sell fish to C.J. on another player's island?

So, yesterday, someone was hosting Celeste and C.J., and I came to sell my fish to C.J., but I didn't get any options to interact with him at all. Just regular dialogue. (It was also evening, if the time has got anything to do with it.)

That got me thinking that maybe we can't sell fish to C.J. on another island, unless there's a fishing tourney. If any of you know what might be the case here, I would really appreciate your insight!

Yup, can’t sell fish to CJ or Flick on other islands. A bit silly, but maybe they release em all back into the local ecosystem so your fish/bugs could be invasive.

kinda does seem odd that you can sell turnips on another person’s island but can't sell to flick or cj

Yeah I confirmed this when I visited myself with "Roxas" from Twilight to Destiny and I can confirm that you cannot sell bugs or fish to CJ or Flick. Its really strange because all the other NPCs you can buy from them when they are on others islands, but for whatever reason you can't sell when CJ or flick is on their island. When I found out about this I was really annoyed.

That's kind of a strange exclusion. You would think they wouldn't remove multiplayer content as that would encourage others to play online and pay for NSO.

The Online just feels too restricted. Thats probably the reason why most people don't visit. Not to mention if you wanted to get Bells you can't use their ATM machine at their Resident Services. You have to fly back to your island, go to your Resident Services, Use the ATM Machine to withdraw bells, and then go back to the airport and fly back to their island. Its an annoying process.
