Cards w/o game?

I really don't think I'm going to buy this game ever, unless I find in the bargain bin in the future (no hate/sarcasm intended). I do want to buy amiibo cards though.

What do you guys think, should I buy the cards anyways? Who here is collecting the cards but not playing the game?

It's up to you. I'm playing the game right now without the cards as I don't have the new 3ds or the reader for that matter BUT I'm thinking of collecting the cards even though I'm not sure if I'll ever use them during gameplay to be honest. However, if you like collecting things, then this game would be right up your alley since, in a sense, you're collecting all the villagers and items and the gameplay is rather limited.

i actually started buying the cards first before i got the game (i wasn't planning to at first). it's a little pricey if you don't plan to use them but it's pretty neat, especially with the collector's album and such. collecting/trading cards is actually my favorite thing to do overall in this game if im bein honest. and who knows you might end up wanting to buy it later anyway

Ya, I think I might start collecting some just to have them. Who knows I might end up getting the game as well. Its not that I don't think I'll enjoy the game, its just that there are other games that are higher up on my wishlist.

I'm just running my cards and placing items for each villager right now, but I intend to collect all the cards, just because I love to collect things and I love the characters... but I don't think they're too important to the game and stuff so I am happy with the cards as something else all together, honestly if I didn't play the game I would have probably still have caved and got the cards after seeing how cute they are, and I need all the SP cards so I can build their houses though. I say collect them if you want them! No judgement here!

The cards are really cute but of course not useful at all without the game, and they are unfortunately kind of pricey imo, but if you want them go for it! And ultimately if you decide you want the game then you will be all set since you'll have the cards already

Personally I don't want the cards because it'll save money. As much as they look adorable and I want to collect them, I'm not going to get them. I was considering getting them for Christmas and an NFC reader, but I don't know if I really want them. I may get them though if I have nothing else I want. It's up to you!

That sounds fun! I think it's fine. The cards are nice enough that they would look good as a collection and who knows, maybe in the future they'll be used for the next AC main title game and you'll already have them!
