Cats or dogs?

This is kind of related to my previous thread I suppose, but it's time for that life-long question, which is better? Cats or dogs?
Personally I prefer cats as they appear to be more settled and relaxed so they will lounge around with you and won't jump about (at least older cats will do that, kittens are playful and excitable which is fun as well but I prefer older cats as you can sit with them while watching TV etc without having to worry about them getting into trouble) Also cats are just lower mantinence as they clean themselves and exercise themselves so you don't have to take them out on walks. (I wouldn't mind taking them out on walks, but it would stress me out if I was sick or too tired and wasn't able to.)
Of course I am probably biased as I own cats myself, but I would love to hear your opinions on the matter as well! (Also don't get the idea that I hate dogs, I would love to get a dog but my parents hate them so that probably won't happen until I move out!)

depends, i have a very cuddly cat who loves attention. but then again, most cats are very independent. most dogs give a lot of attention but they can be really hard work...

I know what you mean! I love how cats are cuddly and take care of themselves but I still appreciate how loving dogs can be!

I voted for dogs, though I like cats too, and I've had both as pets. I guess I prefer dogs because they seem more friendly and sociable. There's nothing wrong with the fact that cats are a little more aloof, but I guess I look for more companionship in a pet. These are just generalizations, though! There are of course different personality types in every animal!

I much prefer dogs. Cats always hate me and I find dogs to be more loyal and friendly. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying all cats are unloyal and unfriendly it's just most of them are

All of the above, for me dogs = cats. They are both great animals, some are better for different types of people, that's all.

Haha I was considering putting a both button as I was findong it hard to choose for myself, but I suppose I went against it as I knew most people would just choose it and I wouldn't really get an answer to my question! I agree that both cats and dogs are such liable little creatures! I hate having to choose between them >~<

Dogs are so energetic and loving and happy! They're more work but a lot of fun. But still when I took this poll I knew there would be more cat people, I just knew. And I was correct!
