Recently, Taro decided to move away. Town residents still talk about him now and then. His contributions to the bugs and fish at the museum are still a testament to his prowess. He will not be forgotten.
Nobu just moved to town, the newest resident. He's a young and energetic farmer, though quite shy. He prefers traditional Japanese Peasant clothing and seems to have an affinity for bug catching. He's still learning about mushrooms. He is in awe of the magical mushroom stumps left behind by Taro. Taro left him the gift of a golden axe, which he treasures . . . and a note with it said, "The golden axe is the key to mushroom farming." Nobu treasures the axe. He makes extra bells sometimes by traveling to nearby towns to help clear trees. His specialty is clearing bamboo that has run amok.
His style is rustic and harmonious. He likes to stay in tuned with the land. He prefers growing plants that produce food and considers them the ultimate in beauty. His motto, "Nothing so beautiful as a perfect cherry," is often on the community bulletin board. If you ask him, he will give you one of his perfect cherries to eat . . . they are truly scrumptious. After a little wrangling, he did agree to having violets around his house, as those are yummy when sugared and placed on deserts. He has also recently introduced the town to damask rose petal jelly and rose petal ice cream--to mixed reviews.
Nobu is a bit more gregarious than Taro, so the villagers have gotten to know him quite quickly. Nobou doesn't like goats, though, they keep eating fruit off his perfect cherry trees without asking first. So, right now, he's been childishly giving Kidd and Pashmina the silent treatment. He did introduce himself, but hasn't spoken to them since. This might have an affect on the town . . . it's first unfriendly actions by any resident.
There are some that say that Posydale is charming, some say it's a little bit over-flowery. Whatever they say, visitors usually enjoy the beauty and friendly villagers.
