So I've be playing city folk regularly for the last two years without problem until a day ago when I got this..

AnimalCrossingDissaterS.jpg

I don't know what the hecks happened the disk isn't even badly scratched. It's never be anywhere but in the Wii and in it's box.

I'm already starting to get Animal crossing withdrawal....

You might wanna blow on the disk to try to get any dust particles off, and also try blowing into the wii. where the Disc Slot is,also to try to get the dust out. That's the only thing I really could think of.

Since Animal Crossing is now only $20, it won't be a big loss to buy a new one.

This happened to me a very long time ago and I ended up buying a second one for 50 only to find I could repair the old one for 2 dollars.

I got my disc cleaned at power gamer, but I'm sure there will be other stores around you that will clean discs for a low amount.
Although the disc may not seem scratched, it doesn't mean it's not damaged.

Tried cleaning it umpteen times with a glasses cloth (a very good and handy thing for cleaning DVDs) but even when the game loads it's keeps freezing when ever I leave a store in the game making the game pretty unplayable.

I have thought about buying another copy, but it goes against my tightfisted Scotsman-ness to buy another copy of a game that went wrong though no fault of mine.

There is away of doing a home disc repair with some Brasso, but it will either repair the disk or make it worse so I keeping that as my last resort.

This is like a common problem with the Wii. Disks that aren't damaged just stop reading.

On a more helpful note, a lot of people are suggesting it go get professionally cleaned. I would try that.

I understand that the discs are duel layered and the laser sometimes has trouble reading it!! Also could be the lasers lens may need cleaning! I've had that trouble! :(

I can't believe this hasn't been suggested yet, but maybe there is an issue with the Wii console itself. If the disc is unscratched, try buying a cleaning kit for the Wii. I believe they have some on their online store and it has a cleaning disc for the disc drive. If that fails, you may have to send your Wii to Nintendo to repair it.

I have this sometimes. What is frustrating is that Resetti can't tell the difference between this and an intentional reset. He must think I've set set about a dozen times so I've seen Don by now.

I felt like my life ended when i got that error. After many months of waiting to re-obtain the game, i came back to see that my perfect town got messed UP pretty bad. all my hard earned hybrids... dead, and only ugly golden roses left.

Just buy a new copy. It's saved on the Wii anyway.

But if you really can't do that, I suggest cleaning it

It could be the Wii but the only other game I own out of my 56 other Wii games that doesn't run is smash brothers brawl, and that is something totally different going on with that game.

I can't get it professionally cleaned without make a 120 mile trip so I think I'm going to have to try Brassoing the Smurf out of the disk as I can't get it load at all now so I've got nothing to lose.

Yes! Brawl, Mario Bros, and CF all did this to me! It's a problem with the discs though so I recommend getting a new disc imo.

No, it's a commonly suggested technique to use a small amount of toothpaste to polish a scratched disk. Whether or not it works I can't comment on, but it's far from a joke suggestion, let alone an offensive one.
