Soo after saving for some time, I finally got the money to buy a pair of cockatiels! theyre 2 years old and are going to be laying eggs on october-ish.
I love these birds, they always look like theyre curious about something.

Tomorrow i will cut their wing feathers and start the work of domesticating them, soo ill probably bleed from their bites.
What do you guys think about cockatiels ^^?
Edit: oh, also, if you're curious: The male has a yellow face and the female a gray one.

I don't find them annoying, and a dog surely poops more than a bird... not that i dont like my dogs tho

Dude, they make noise most of the time when you're sleeping from what I've heard. Smaller animals poop more for obvious reasons (Birds, Rodents, etc.)

they poop more often, yes. their drops are easier to pick up/clean, yup. back when i had more birds i would spend 5-10 minutes on each cage. I easily spend 15 minutes or more cleaning the backyard of dog poo.

they look nice i hope u can train them fast :p

I love birds! I used to have Cockateils~

Oh yes, I often had to clean up my faimily dogs poop more than my birds. I should also mention that I don't care for dogs. No thanks~

Oh, they are pretty. We had a cockatiel years ago. We named it Sonny. When it started laying eggs we changed its name...to Sunny! She was the off-white color with orange cheeks. We had to find a nice new home for her eventually because she was nervous about our cats. She was very tame, fun to have, and not much work. Have fun with yours!

I used to have a cockatiel when I was really little. He was awesome, we thought him to talk. It's always exciting to get new pets, I hope they behave!

Don't hate on birds, man.

Also what do rodents have to do with you not liking birds? seems irrelevant.

Anyway, I've always wanted a small birb like those little cute parrots !! I love birds that can talk. I wouldn't be able to deal with a big bratty parrot +_+ but birbs are pretty cool

I have a cockatiel back home. I got him way back in the fifth grade. He was already a year or two old by that point, so he's probably over 18 years old now. o.o

I'm afraid he got left home because he turned into a grouchy little thing (not that I can't relate) that squawks all of the time. My mom thought he shouldn't be moved in his old age. He could still live another decade or so in reality, though.

I really like birds when they're cared for properly and happy, you can really tell the difference. I love watching all the bird videos and stuff on youtube they're my favorite, like the bird screaming into a cup, I die every time I watch it. I've only ever had budgies and I wasn't a great owner because I was too young to be one. I started with one named Sky and he was really beautiful, he'd fly around my room and then hide under my dresser, he had just almost started trusting me enough when my mom's boyfriend's brother gave me his budgie because it's partner had died and it was depressed, and the trust vanished, even though Pickle, the one I "adopted" per-se had trusted me whole heartedly when I went to visit him before his partner died... but they were cute, we'd play little blinking games? Idk how else to explain it, and chirping games too. My cats would stare at them all the time. I ended up having to sell them to a lady down the street who ended up taking much better care of them so that was nice at least.

ive never had a bird but cockatiels are cool. i just dont like their chirping unless its when im outside in the wilderness where its calming

They seem nice but I feel like keeping birds as pets seems sad since they can't go outside and fly. I had a bird for like a day but returned it to the store because apparently they are easy to kill with fumes from cooking and I was afraid it would happen.
