I thought I would try to get better in the kitchen, so I picked up a few funny cookbooks a while ago and try something from those, then I picked up a few more.

Some you may like to hear about include:
-Are you Hungry Tonight Elvis' Favorite Recipes
-Come into the Kitchen Cookbook by Mary and Vincent Price
-The Official Netflix Cook book

Some from youtube people:
-Tasting History with Max Miller
-Eat What You Watch from the channel Binging with Babish
-Italian/American from a guy known for making videos cooking mostly pasta in just an apron and boxers.

I've seen but didn't buy one by Snoop Dogg, or another from Dolly Parton. I'd like to know if Recipes from the World of Tolkien is worth looking at.

I haven't tried making much from these yet, but Vincent Price did get me to put cinnamon in my coffee. Do you have any neat ones?

Oh yeah, I like watching Tasting History with Max Miller. But only because I like to learn about the history of said dish.

As for the cookbooks, I remember reading the Good Housekeeping Illustrated Cookbook only because I like looking at the old pictures of recipes and never even bothered reading the recipes themselves. Seeing pictures of salad and savory dishes encased in gelatin is kind of strange for me. Granted, I used to like reading vintage recipe books from the 80's during my free time.

I have the Stardew Valley cookbook and the Bob's Burgers cookbook! I haven't made anything from either of them yet, though..

I wanna get Preppy Kitchen's cookbook and Kylie Sakaida's cookbook (both youtubers). Apparently there's an unofficial Sims cookbook, that looks kinda fun. There's also a cookbook that revolves around Twinkies (Brutalmoose makes some of the recipes if you look for it on youtube)

I was browsing Etsy the other day and came across so many AI generated cookbooks, definitely wouldn't recommend buying any of them, they look terrible lmao. They had the table of contents listed in the preview and they repeat the same recipe multiple times (are there really five different kinds of Greek Salad that all need their own pages???)

I've had a bunch of recipe books over time, but have rarely kept or used them.

At some point a few years ago I was looking for a French cookbook, but the books were all very modern, with modern twists on classic foods, and overall, just weren't quite what I was looking for. I had mentioned it in passing to my mum, and she ended up picking up a second-hand cookbook called French Family Cooking by Françoise Bernard (1986). It has a lot of meat dishes, which aren't really my thing, but it also has a lot of vegetables, sides, and desserts with a traditional French feel. It was exactly what I was looking for, and it's been my most used cookbook.

I have a neat recipe journal for writing my own recipes in. Unfortunately, I'm my own worst enemy. Whenever I make something new or modify a recipe, I don't write it down, and so I'll never be able to make it quite the same again!
