Could I apply the reset trick, to getting a villagers picture to a villager asking to

I want a certain villager out can I reset until said villager asks me to leave?

I don't think so; I think the game chooses a certain villager to want to move and you can't affect it. You CAN use the reset trick if they pull a bait and switch on you when they ask to move though. I've had to do that. But it doesn't change which villager asks, just their response.
