What is the craziest encounter you've had at work?
I haven't been on in so long because I had to get a new job and change up my whole routine -.-"
A few weeks ago this lady went nuts because her food wasn't done, someone called the police... One of the people dining in was an off duty police officer.
She was screaming like someone skinned her whole family.
As she left, she said
"I have worked in customer service for four years know, PEOPLE LOVE ME"
One time we all took a bag of garbage from the office and chased after a garbage truck that was driving down the street. Boss included.
I think the garbage truck driver thought we were some giant weird family or something lol
A couple of months ago, a check for about $1000 was sitting on the counter and somehow ended up in the trash compactor, so my boss - a super high class business guy - ended up crawling and sifting through all of the nastiness to find it.
Luckily, he did
They about fired the lady who was working at customer service because they thought she threw it away, but they looked at the security tapes and saw that it blew off of the counter and perfectly landed in the trashcan
I work in the produce department, and I had a guy call to ask my why his jalapeno lays chips were all crushed in the can and what he should do about it
I apologized and explained that they weren't in my department, and he was like "Oh, I thought since they were jalapeno, they would be."
And then there's this lady who is a cashier up front, and she is always causing drama lol. She thinks she's like a manager or something, and is "always right"
Honestly way too many to list, when you work in an all night business and the freaks come out at night, and there's a bar in house it leads to way too many "crazy" things happening. A really mild one I guess would be when we had a custom oldies truck available to win we had some lady calling it her "juicy baby" and she was like rubbing on it and hugging it? Really weird people come through here...
I had a guy light something on fire and threaten me with it right in front of my district manager one time. Said manager was standing directly behind me, and not only did he refuse to do anything about the customer, he refused to so much as look at the camera right after it happened.
And that's the tip of the iceberg. I work for a lousy company.
A girl that just got hired at the place I work got let go after being there for like 3 days because her behavior went from completely normal to super bizarre. She was overly fascinated by a simple delivery tracking app, asked for a set of keys to the store, which only managers have and asked if she could stay the night in store. She also went from being able to read and write just fine to suddenly being dyslexic to the point she couldnt type a 4 letter name like Mary. I can't stress how drastically she changed over night. Even her mom came in to ask whether she had been acting as weird here as she was at home.
I was training a new employee on her first day when I had to leave for 2 minutes to fax a order form. Within those 2 minutes, this middle age women went full rage mode on the new girl. I heard the commotion and ran back to the counter, and the poor girl was almost in tears. It turns out the women was so angry that she was 2 seconds away from climbing over the counter for Garlic bread! At 7:00am!
I was furious at this women because other employees explained she was new and tried to help her but nooooo! The new girl had to do it and the new girl clearly didn’t know how to do her job properly!
