Crazy Redd reset?

I have had nothing but bad luck with the paintings. Not only in Let's go to the City, but also in Wild World.

I still need a few more and when Redd has them in stock they always turn out to be forgeries! It's the worst thing!
Same in Wild World!

Isn't there a way to reset Redd, or is it already determined, from the moment the game is loaded for the day?

I can't take this anymore!

I think it's pre-determined. But there are subtle differences that you can spot on the art/statues which tell you they're fakes. I think there are a few guides online that you can use to find out which one is real.

Unfortunately, that only applies to New Leaf, not City Folk or Wild World. As for the original question, I'm not sure. I don't reset much, so I've never tested it out. All I know is that it always takes me a few years to complete the art collection because of all the fakes.

Oh wow I haven't played the previous games that much, I just assumed that this was a standard within the games... I feel so stupid now!

I am playing City Folk again and I would say it really seems 50-50. I've been playing for a few months now, and I did get lucky early on. I am half way through the art collection, and for the past month I've had nothing but Redd fakkkkkkes!
