Does anyone else wish we would receive some kind of in-game notice when Nook shopping updates with new stuff? It doesn't even have to be a big notice, just like a small dot on the seasonal tab or something so that you know there's something new. Players can possibly miss new items and stuff because they don't even know its there. It's even worse if you don't have the shopping app on your phone, because you have to go all the way to town hall just to order stuff. I don't check the seasonal tab, honestly. If I'm not ordering furniture, I don't really bother, and with no in-game notice/indicator, I kind of have to just luck out and hope that I catch stuff when they're available, or hope that someone posts about it online.

Didn't Tom Nook used to send you a letter and be like: Hey! There are seasonal items for you!

I recalled he did that with the mother's day and father's day items (like the mug)

Maybe someone could educate me on the background of these items and their IRL purpose, but let me tell you how sad i was when all i heard was cucumbers and eggplants were in the game only to find out that they are plants with sticks that sit on the ground....

The two act as vessels that allow ancestors to travel back and find their way home to enjoy the rest of the offerings with the family. Cucumber Horse for fast travel, the Eggplant Cow for a leisurely ride so they can carry back stuff with them.

They can also be used as wards to protect traveling ancestors and the household from evil spirits. That's more so the bouncing beans of Setsubun

i check nook shopping every day to ensure that i don’t miss anything, and an account that i follow on twitter is good at announcing when there’s new seasonal items available, but an in-game notice would definitely be great!
